Mostly because they’re often not made for tall frames. You’ll see them recommended on social media all the time, but that’s because Quince is very into influencer marketing and a lot of those influencers are petite.

The average inseam for Quince pants is around 28” and for someone who is 5’10, that’s always going to look cropped, which works for some styles but not others. Quince does have a few pants that are worth a look for tall women, even if most of their line is decidedly not tall-friendly.

I’ve tried eight different Quince pants over the past three years and I’ve had a very different experience with each.

In this Quince pants review, I’ll go over my detailed thoughts on what you should know before you buy your first pair, and tell you which ones are my favorites (and least favorites).

Disclosure: Quince sent me these pants to test, but all opinions are my own.

Short on time? I’d heard they were good for travel and I wanted to test that properly, so I wore them most days of the trip.

Quince started sending me a monthly credit after that, and I’ve been working through their pants a pair at a time ever since. Eight pairs in, across ponte, linen, silk, corduroy, and their Flowknit performance fabric, the results have been all over the place.

Three have become favorites. Two I’d buy again. Three I’d avoid and would not recommend. The main issue I’ve had with all of them, except for the ponte pants, is finding a tall inseam.

Quince Ponte Pants Review

Ponte is a knit rather than a woven fabric, which is why it stretches and is wrinkle-resistant. In other words, ponte pants can be great for travel if you can find ones that aren’t too heavy. Quince’s version is mostly midweight, so it still works well for packing.

Quince makes more ponte styles than any other type of pants, and it’s the only fabric where they offer inseams past 30 inches. You could say it’s their signature pants. If you’re tall and you want Quince pants, this is where to start.

My main issue with Quince’s ponte pants is that none of them have pockets except for one, which I didn’t end up liking all that much for different reasons. But if you can live without pockets on your pants, these are some of my favorite pants from Quince.

#1 Ultra-Stretch Ponte Straight Leg Pants

The Ponte Straight Leg Pants are Quince’s second most reviewed pants and the item that made me aware of the brand in the first place.

I kept hearing how good these pants were for travel, which is why I ordered them before my UK trip. The ponte has enough stretch that I wore them most days of my three-week trip and was comfortable the whole time.

The main things I don’t like about these are the belt loops and the lack of pockets. The material is close to a thick legging instead of tailored, so the belt loops just look a little out of place.

There was one quality control issue with these, with some of the stitching coming loose. That was three years ago, and neither ponte pair I’ve ordered since has had a problem.

I got these in a 32-inch inseam, which was good for my height, and Quince now offers this style in a 34-inch inseam for taller women. It’s the longest inseam they make in any pair of pants.

I gave mine away about a year ago because they were slightly too small on me (more on that in the sizing section), especially after pregnancy .

These are a solid place to start for Quince pants but not my favorite style. The straight leg makes them look more like professional work pants than stylish travel pants, but they’re a good neutral basic if that’s what you’re looking for.

#2 Ultra-Stretch Ponte Wide Leg Pants

I got the Ultra-Stretch Ponte Wide Leg Pants in a rich brown last year and wore them every week of fall and winter, usually more than once a week. Quince makes a lot of ponte styles, and this is my favorite of them.

I also ordered these in the 32-inch inseam, which was perfect. There are no belt loops on this style, and that alone makes them look sleeker than the straight leg.

They feel like wide leg yoga pants with more structure, and they’re stretchy but nice looking enough that I’ve worn them to Thanksgiving dinner. The midweight fabric runs a little warm, so these are best for fall, spring, and winter.

Unfortunately, I ended up shrinking these, so I haven’t worn them as much since last winter. I washed them on the delicate cycle and tumble dried on low, and they shrank about an inch.

The care label says to lay them flat instead of using a dryer, and ponte in general isn’t meant to go in a dryer, so this one’s on me. I plan to reorder them since I liked them so much. And again, no pockets on these, which is the biggest con against them.

#3 Ultra-Stretch Ponte Straight Leg 4-Pocket Pants

I was so excited when I saw that Quince made a ponte pant with pockets; I ordered it immediately. However, once the Ponte Straight Leg 4-Pocket Pants came, they ended up being my least favorite ponte pair I’ve tried from Quince.

The main issue is how dang heavy they are. I don’t know how four pockets add that much weight, but I wouldn’t pack them for a trip. They have the same work trouser look as the regular straight leg. And even though it’s supposed to be the same ponte fabric, these don’t feel as soft to me.

I’ve only worn them a handful of times since they arrived because of how heavy they are, and I just feel like their style, similar to the regular ponte straight leg, is a little boring.

Quince Linen Pants Review

Linen is one of the best fabrics to buy from Quince, and their pants are no exception. Both pairs I’ve tried have worked for me, which I wasn’t expecting given how short the inseams are.

Quince sadly doesn’t offer a tall inseam in linen at all. The wide-leg tops out at 30 inches, and the regular pants only come in one length. These were my thoughts on both.

#4 100% European Linen Pants

I ordered the 100% European Linen Pants with low expectations because of the 25-inch inseam. They’re the most reviewed pants Quince sells, but anything shorter than 28 inches usually looks ridiculous on me.

These surprised me. Quince calls them an easy fit, and that looser cut makes the length somehow work okay on my frame, although I’d still prefer a couple more inches.

I like the belt loops on this pair. They make it easy to keep the pants casual or dress them up with a leather belt.

The linen isn’t necessarily the best quality I’ve tried, but also not bad, especially for the price. It’s pretty thin but also very lightweight. I have these in navy and flax, and the navy hides wrinkles much better and looks more polished. They have three pockets in total.

The rise is probably my least favorite thing about these pants. They sit just below my belly button, so I can’t wear cropped tops as comfortably. As a side note, these run a little big and have a stretchy waistband, so I’d recommend sizing down from your normal size.

#5 100% European Linen Wide Leg Pants

My current favorite linen pants from any brand are Quince’s 100% European Linen Wide Leg Pants. I like them better than the popular Athleta Retreat Linen Pants, which I find too voluminous.

The waistband is thick on these with a drawstring, which is the main thing that separates them from the regular linen pants, as well as the wider leg. The thick waistband means there’s good tummy control, and it also makes them look more like casual sightseeing or beach resort pants.

They’re high-waisted, so they work better with crop tops, and they have four pockets, but they’re still very lightweight.

At 30 inches, these are still a little short on me and sit slightly high-water, though they still work well enough on my frame that I wear them fairly regularly. I’ve worn them a lot this summer.

I got them in the flax color, and it goes with everything. It’s also not see-through, which is worth mentioning given how many light colored Quince pieces are.

Quince Washable Silk Pants Review

#6 100% Washable Silk Drawstring Wide Leg Pants

Of everything I’ve ordered from Quince, the 100% Washable Silk Drawstring Wide Leg Pants are the pair I was most excited about and the pair I’ve worn the least.

I got them in the champagne color, the lightest shade they offer, after being tempted by the mustard yellow for a pop of color. I wore them to BottleRock this year, and they worked well for a festival. For everyday wear, they haven’t been as practical because they wrinkle so easily.

It’s honestly kind of wild. I steamed them right before I left for the festival, sat in the car for an hour, and by the time I got there, they were completely wrinkled again. A darker color like navy or black would hide the wrinkles better, but it’s still the worst thing about these pants.

They also weren’t breathable at all on a hot day. Silk in a satin weave is the least breathable type of silk, so these aren’t the pants for hot weather even though they’re thin and lightweight.

They’re a high-rise, which is how I wear them, but that means they’re not full length on me at 30 inches. Wearing them low on the hips is the only way to make them look like full-length pants.

They also poof out a little around the lower stomach when I’m sitting, which isn’t the most flattering. Lastly, the champagne color is slightly see-through, so you’d probably want to wear a thong with this color.

With all that said, the material is soft, and I like how shiny it is. These are probably the most fun pants I own from Quince, and I’ll keep wearing them for the right occasion. They’re just not everyday pants.

Quince Corduroy Pants Review

#7 Organic Stretch Corduroy Cropped Wide Leg Pants

My biggest miss from Quince was the Corduroy Cropped Wide Leg Pants.

When I bought them, the only option they had was a 26-inch inseam, which is very short on my legs. It doesn’t just look like a cropped pant. It looks like I’m wearing someone else’s ill-fitting pants.

Quince has since added a 28-inch inseam, which changes things…a little. 28 inches is close enough to a normal length for me that I’d be willing to retest them at some point. It might look okay.

I know some shorter women who love these, but I don’t think they look particularly good on a tall frame. I also don’t think the cropped wide-leg look is very cute in this material.

The corduroy itself is soft and feels like good quality, and it’s not the heaviest cord I’ve come across, though it is one of the heavier pants I own from Quince. They have four pockets, two in front and two in back, plus belt loops, and they’re a high rise.

At $62, these are also on the higher end for Quince pants, which means they’re not even that much of a value pick. I’d skip them altogether.

Quince Lounge Pants Review

#8 Flowknit Mid-Rise Joggers

I’ve mostly worn the Flowknit Mid-Rise Joggers around the house and as pajama pants since I got them a couple of months ago. I could see them working for travel days and long flights, and the fabric is lightweight and quick-drying.

But overall, I haven’t been that impressed with these. They’re clearly meant to be a dupe of the Vuori Performance Joggers, and the Vuori version is much better.

I lived in my Vuori joggers for about a year postpartum, and they’re the coziest joggers I’ve come across, so it’s a high bar, but the Flowknit doesn’t feel like the same quality. They’re soft without being cozy.

The color I got is just okay and doesn’t go with as much as I hoped because it’s more of a reddish brown than it looked online.

These are a mid pair of joggers, but I’d recommend just investing in the real thing that’s higher quality and more comfortable. I am curious to try Quince’s SuperSoft Fleece to see whether that fabric is better.

Quince Pants Sizing and Fit

I’m usually a medium in other brands, but for Quince I’m a little more all over the place.

Ponte – Medium (my regular size). I ordered a small in the straight leg, and it was a little too tight since these are more form-fitting. Every ponte pair since has been a medium, and that has been the right fit.

Linen, regular – Small (sized down). It took me three tries to find the right size with this pair. I bought a large when I was newly postpartum, and it ran big even then. The medium was poofy, and because the waistband is thin and stretchy rather than snug, it slid down whenever I put a hand in the pocket. The small was the best fit and stayed in place.

Linen, wide leg – Small (sized down). At first, I wasn’t sure if I should’ve sized down since this waistband is tighter and thicker than the regular linen pants, but that relaxed after a few wears. Sizing down still worked well for me for this pair.

Silk – Small (sized down). The small stretchy waistband made me think a small would be the best fit for this material, and I was right.

Corduroy. Size 8 (my regular size). I ordered a 10 when I was newly postpartum, and I’m usually an 8, so mine are baggy through the leg and waist. Lay them flat to dry. Mine went in on tumble dry low and came out an inch shorter. Same with the silk; line dry it, but don’t put it in the dryer.

The linen, flowknit, and corduroy have done fine in the washer (on delicate) and dryer (on tumble dry low).

Ponte doesn’t wrinkle easily, which is what makes it a great travel pant fabric, probably the best that Quince offers besides being on the heavier side (I’d consider it midweight). The main downside is you have to air dry them, which with a heavier fabric isn’t always the most practical for travel if you’re moving around a lot.

Linen wrinkles the way linen always does, though the darker colors hide it better, and I’d still take my Quince linen pants on a trip.
