His move to Turin collapse following the decision of pulling out from the Italian giant.<\/p>\n<p>Now, according to the report in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/emiliano-martinez-reaches-decision-joining-chelsea-from-aston-villa-european-football\"><em>TeamTalk<\/em><\/a>, the Argentine could be moving back to London, where he started his career in Europe with Arsenal back in 2012, following the latest update.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201c<\/strong>Intermediaries have offered Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur the chance to sign Emiliano Martinez, with Aston Villa looking for options to move on the 33-year-old this summer.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Chelsea lacks of top goalkeeper<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Blues initially were not planning to sign any goalkeeper. Xabi Alonso\u2019s side seemed pretty satisfied with Robert Sanchez and Mike Penders. They are not competing in Europe too, so this season would be their chance to prepare them to upgrade their level of performance. Chelsea aim high to finish in the top four or even win the league this season so that they could be at the top level next season when they are playing in the Champions League.<\/p>\n<p>However, their opener against Fulham has just given a reality check on their goalkeeping unit. Despite their win over The Cottagers, Robert Sanchez\u2019 form was rather worrying. They conceded twice due to the Spaniard\u2019s mistake between the sticks.<\/p>\n<p>Alonso knows his team needs a top goalie to win the league and he could not let such mistakes happen again. The former Bayer Leverkusen boss quickly turns to Martinez who is currently seeking for a new side as the first choice.<\/p>\n<p>The Argentine would provide strong leadership and character at the backline, which could be crucial in the big decisive games. It is perfect fit for Chelsea\u2019s ambition, albeit his age.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Spurs looking for number one shot stopper<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, Spurs are heading to the new season with a glaring problem at the backline. They have just lost Guglielmo Vicario who has switched sides to Juventus on loan. Roberto De Zerbi\u2019s side has no ideal figure between the sticks to begin their new season.<\/p>\n<p>Their current first choice, Anthonin Kinsky is still in need of more minutes to step up in the important games, Their 3-0 loss against Brentford in the Premier League opener gave the reason why. Tottenham are in need of notable goalkeeper as the Argentine. Kinsky and his back-up, the former Newcastle United man, Martin Dubravka are not the ideal choice they have had.
