AZALEH \u2013 SOUND JOURNAL I<\/a>, II<\/a>, III<\/a>, IV<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Sound Journal IV<\/em><\/strong> is the latest edition in the series of soundscapes created by German electronic music producer Azaleh<\/a> (Leonard Koerner)<\/em><\/strong>. All four parts are released as separate albums, but I list them all because I think that the set of long-form soundscapes fits very well together. <\/p>\n

\u2018Drone\u2019 is not exactly a correct description for these compositions, because there\u2019s a lot happening here. Azaleh<\/em><\/strong> creates slow, spacious and immersive soundscapes that subtly change in atmosphere, from dark to light, between melancholy and hopefullness. Music with a \u2018storytelling\u2019 quality.<\/p>\n

Azaleh<\/em><\/strong> started making music in 2014 after experimenting with Ableton. His output is not strictly \u2018ambient\u2019: you\u2019ll also find related genres like downtempo, drum & bass, garage, chillstep in his extensive back catalogue. <\/p>\n

The four Sound Journals<\/em><\/strong> were my first introduction to the music of Azaleh<\/em><\/strong>. Somewhat to my own surprise, I had no problem listening to all of the 200 minutes in one continuous session. Which is something I rarely have the patience for! <\/p>\n
