Awareness takes over.<\/strong><\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2. From Expression to Impression<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Younger kids express. But, teens\u2026 start managing impressions. They begin to think:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cIs this cool?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWill my friends make fun of me if I smile too much?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cDo I look childish?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, they try to copy what they see outside, as that\u2019s acceptable and looks cool in front of everyone. <\/p>\n<p><!-- Ezoic - wp_mid_content - mid_content --><!-- End Ezoic - wp_mid_content - mid_content --><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> \u201c<strong><strong>They perform to look cool and acceptable.<\/strong><\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3. Fear of Judgment Replaces Joy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the biggest shift.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When they were younger:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cJoy was more important than judgment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As they grow older:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Avoiding embarrassment becomes more important than enjoying the moment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>4. The Big Misunderstanding<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>How Confident Kids become Silent Teens?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As parents, we often think our teen is losing their confidence and enroll them in a host of classes to help with that loss of confidence. But in reality,<\/p>\n<p><!-- Ezoic - wp_long_content - long_content --><!-- End Ezoic - wp_long_content - long_content --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>They are not losing confidence.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>They are becoming highly self-conscious.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>I\u2019m not being heard.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>5. What Do Our Teens Really Need?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So the real question is not:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHow do I make my teen more confident?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A better question is:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> <strong>\u201cWhere does my teen feel safe enough to be themselves?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because when that safety is present\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Confidence shows up naturally.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Gentle Reflection for You<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Think about the last time your child performed something or did something for you.
