Lisandro Martinez has only 30 minutes under his belt so far following his World Cup exploits, but may be introduced for minutes in the second half.<\/p>\n<p>Matthijs de Ligt is back in training but not yet ready to take part.<\/p>\n<p>Luke Shaw is United\u2019s left-back today.<\/p>\n<h3>Midfield and Attack<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thepeoplesperson.com\/tag\/andrey-santos\" target=\"_blank\">Andrey Santos<\/a> and Youri Tielemans are the central midfield pivot. Kobbie Mainoo is probably not deemed match fit by Carrick, having been unplayed by Thomas Tuchel during England\u2019s World Cup campaign. <\/p>\n<p>Manuel Ugarte is a long-term injury while Mason Mount is <a href=\"https:\/\/thepeoplesperson.com\/2026\/08\/20\/every-word-of-michael-carricks-hull-city-pre-match-press-conference-314267\/\" target=\"_blank\">nursing a minor injury<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bruno Fernandes is in the number 10 role. <\/p>\n<p>Matheus Cunha is up front with Patrick on the left wing and Bryan Mbeumo on the right. Amad has been excellent on the right wing in pre-season, but makes way for the more experienced star.<\/p>\n<p>Ben Sesko is back in training but not match fit, having missed the whole pre-season. He is on the bench and could see a few minutes in the second half.<\/p>\n<h3>Substitutes<\/h3>\n<p>United have a strong bench. Karl Darlow has recovered from injury to take his place as the substitute keeper.
