My oldest wasn\u2019t able to join us, so in a way, the pictures in this series, which I call \u201cUnplugged,\u201d aren\u2019t complete. However, they still captured the perfection of what happens when we have no other distractions and nothing else to do but be together.<\/p>\n<p>We started our morning early after a night in a cabin in front of Arbutus Pond in the Adirondack Park. The peace and serenity of the morning can, if you crave it as much as I did that morning, make your eyes tear up a bit.<span id=\"more-26006\"\/><\/p>\n<p>There wasn\u2019t anything else\u2014just nature and water\u2014silence, stillness. It was a beautiful, unfiltered, undisturbed moment in time.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-26007 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/girlgonetravel.com\/home\/carolc\/public_html\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSC00086-e1408395325805.jpg\" alt=\"Lake views while hiking in Adirondacks\" width=\"865\" height=\"575\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Later that weekend, we would drive past the crowds of tourists in Lake George and, by chance, end up at a secluded little beach, where my children made friends with the grandkids of local residents and proceeded to enjoy the lake to the fullest.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-26010 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/girlgonetravel.com\/home\/carolc\/public_html\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSC00090-e1408395597353.jpg\" alt=\"Lake George views\" width=\"865\" height=\"575\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-26011 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/girlgonetravel.com\/home\/carolc\/public_html\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSC00095-e1408395581924.jpg\" alt=\"Lake George views\" width=\"865\" height=\"591\"\/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-26008\" src=\"https:\/\/girlgonetravel.com\/home\/carolc\/public_html\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSC00112-e1408395649649.jpg\" alt=\"Adirondacks travel _girlgonetravel\" width=\"865\" height=\"575\"\/>As I laughed with my family and watched them play, I promised myself that I would give myself and them more time like this, where we would toss aside all the distractions and all the things that take us away from each other.
