One worker dropped his knee onto a ram\u2019s neck, slamming the animal\u2019s head against the floor. Workers sheared sheep so quickly and carelessly that they sliced into their skin, leaving bloody wounds. The investigator also documented a dead lamb and a lamb suffering from a maggot-infested wound.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And this wasn\u2019t some operation without the industry\u2019s stamp of approval. Both NATIVA and the Responsible Wool Standard certified the farm\u2014exactly the kinds of certifications that companies use to convince shoppers that wool is somehow \u201cresponsible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But no label can make cruelty kind, and no certification can protect sheep from the inherent cruelty of the wool industry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PETA entities have released 17 expos\u00e9s of more than 150 wool-industry operations in seven countries on four continents, repeatedly documenting workers beating, cutting, and otherwise abusing sheep. \u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HM-Featured-June-26.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"602\" height=\"301\" src=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HM-Featured-June-26-602x301.jpg\" alt=\"Sheep being forcefully shorn\" class=\"wp-image-1195187\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HM-Featured-June-26-602x301.jpg 602w, https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HM-Featured-June-26-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HM-Featured-June-26-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HM-Featured-June-26-750x375.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HM-Featured-June-26.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 602px) 100vw, 602px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"h-why-is-peta-calling-on-h-amp-m-to-ban-wool\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why Is PETA Calling on H&amp;M to Ban Wool?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">H&amp;M continues to rely on third-party certifications rather than stop selling wool\u2014even though PETA entities have repeatedly exposed cruelty at supposedly \u201cresponsible\u201d and \u201cethical\u201d operations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The solution is simple: H&amp;M should ban wool.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-peta-supporters-take-the-message-straight-to-h-amp-m\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>PETA Supporters Take the Message Straight to H&amp;M<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And PETA entities aren\u2019t waiting quietly. PETA will keep the pressure on H&amp;M worldwide\u2014from eye-catching protests to shareholder actions to billboard campaigns\u2014until the company stops selling wool.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-august-10-2026-stockholm\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>August 10, 2026: Stockholm<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To kick off an international campaign calling on H&amp;M to ban wool, PETA supporters descended on an H&amp;M store in Stockholm\u2014H&amp;M\u2019s home city\u2014wearing \u201cbloodied\u201d clothing and cradling a partly skinned \u201cdead lamb.\u201d Their signs left shoppers with no doubt about the message: <strong>\u201cSheep Suffer. And after another PETA campaign, H&amp;M committed in 2024 to stop selling virgin down. H&amp;M has demonstrated that it can move away from selling clothing that causes animals to suffer. There\u2019s no excuse for dragging its feet on wool.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-sheep-need-you-tell-h-amp-m-to-ban-wool\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sheep Need You: Tell H&amp;M to Ban Wool<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sheep aren\u2019t sweaters. They\u2019re gentle, social individuals who form strong bonds with one another and can become depressed when separated from their flock. Yet the wool industry treats them as wool-producing machines.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fashion should be about creativity\u2014not bloodshed.
