Wishlisting Campaign – The Long Survival PS VR2…

Around six months ago, I wrote a post about a game called A Long Survive. It was originally set to release just a few weeks later, but the PS VR2 version kept getting delayed… and delayed… until, a few months later, the team suddenly announced a name change to The Long Survival. Honestly, it’s probably a friendlier title for many countries outside the Native American regions, so the change made sense.

But this post isn’t about the name. It’s about what happened a few days ago on the PlayStation Store — something completely out of the blue for both us and the developers.

Out of nowhere, the game suddenly appeared as “Your Wishlisted Game Is Now Available” across emails, console notifications, and the PlayStation app. Naturally, people rushed to check it… and surprise: the game had NOT been released. It was a store hiccup. The developer quickly removed the “available for purchase” flag and reverted it back to “wishlist”.

And here’s where things went wrong — again.

As we’ve seen with similar issues before, Sony didn’t simply update the page… they removed it. And when they pulled the page, they also wiped out thousands of wishlists that had been built up over the last year. That’s a massive blow. Wishlisting isn’t just a vanity metric — it directly affects store visibility, recommendations, and how often VR titles appear in curated sections. Losing that momentum hurts both the game and the VR category as a whole.

I’ve double‑checked the details behind how these algorithms work — again — just to be absolutely sure before posting this. I normally don’t do news updates because of time constraints; my main goal for the blog is simply to review every VR game out there. But this situation needed attention.

So here’s the point of this post:

  1. Please wishlist The Long Survive again. Whether you had it wishlisted before or you’re doing it for the first time, it genuinely helps rebuild the numbers to where they were just a week ago.

  2. The game now has an official launch date (again) — 27th of August 2026. In other words, we’re just eight days away now. The new date was announced yesterday, so things finally seem to be moving forward.

  3. The game will launch at $19.99, and on top of that, there will be a discount of 10% (for PS+ only?)

That’s really all for now. I’ve included the updated version of my old post below so you don’t have to jump between pages — this site isn’t about generating traffic; it’s meant to be a resource, and I don’t earn anything from what I do here.

    Who Are Friendly Fire Studios…

Friendly Fire Studios is a tiny Spanish team of just six people, struggling to get visibility across the board — which, let’s be honest, is a familiar story for most VR developers. Even with appearances on WithoutParole, GameCats and the VRShowcase.

It’s still incredibly hard to stand out in today’s overcrowded digital stores.

Part of the team previously worked at Epic Games, and others built a VR Arena/Laser Tag experience before deciding to form their own studio. They’ve been in the industry long enough to know exactly how brutal it can be to get noticed.

That’s one of the reasons I’m writing this: to help give both the game and the studio a bit more awareness.

    What Is: A Long Survive?

A Long Survive is a cooperative survival shooter built around resource management and fighting some of the largest enemy waves ever seen in VR. You’ll need to build defences, coordinate in real time, and choose from four unique heroes — each with their own abilities — while unlocking skills, weapons, and structures through a dynamic progression system.
