criminal investigation into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/middle-east\/palestinian-girl-killed-israeli-tanks-hind-rajab-b2494129.html\">the killing of five-year-old Hind Rajab<\/a> and her family \u2013 and admitted for the first time that it fired on her family\u2019s car.<\/p>\n<p>A separate criminal investigation will probe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/israel-gaza-war-medics-killed-b2728259.html\">the killing of 15 Palestinian paramedics<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/gaza\">Gaza<\/a> in May 2025.<\/p>\n<p>However, the military said that it would not launch criminal investigations into three other high-profile attacks that killed aid workers from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/middle-east\/israel-gaza-attack-strike-world-central-kitchen-b2522280.html\">World Central Kitchen<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/middle-east\/msf-gaza-city-israel-hamas-b2834594.html\">Doctors Without Borders<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A statement from the military, issued on Wednesday, said that it had completed reviews of 150 incidents involving Israeli troops in Gaza and made decisions on five cases.<\/p>\n<p>It did not mention the Israeli strikes on a hospital in southern Gaza that killed five journalists in August 2025, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/middle-east\/gaza-israel-maryam-abu-daqqa-killed-independent-arabia-tribute-b2815505.html\">Maryam Abu Daqqa<\/a>, a photojournalist for the <em>Independent<\/em>\u2019s partner site<em> Independent Arabia. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Hind was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/middle-east\/israel-gaza-war-voice-of-hind-rajab-beach-protest-b2910484.html\">killed alongside her relatives<\/a> in February 2024 as they tried to flee Gaza City amid an Israeli offensive.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sc-awdjp1-2 cbpRGD sc-awdjp1-3 image align-center\">\n<figure class=\"sc-1cbdeug-0 cXcwgU\">\n<div data-gallery-length=\"2\" and four of her cousins. <\/p>\n<p>Hind\u2019s 15-year-old cousin Layan Hamada called the Palestinian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/red-crescent\">Red Crescent<\/a> paramedic centre, telling them that a tank was approaching and that her family had been killed. <\/p>\n<p>Seconds later, more gunshots were heard, and Layan\u2019s screaming stopped, according to the Red Crescent recording of the call.<\/p>\n<p>Hind was the sole survivor in the car.
