\"Doing\"Doing<\/a>Today, I tackle a pretty sensitive subject: \u00a0the difference between \u201cDoing The Right Thing\u201d and \u201cDoing It Right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Let me be very clear: \u00a0I believe that working to save your marriage is heroic work. \u00a0It is pretty counter-cultural in our world of \u201cthrow away.\u201d \u00a0We do it with stuff and relationships. \u00a0<\/p>\n

I also believe that working on saving a marriage is courageous. \u00a0It\u2019s pretty scary to be in the middle of a crisis, and to CHOOSE to work on the relationship. \u00a0That is the definition of courage \u2014 feeling fear, and choosing to act, anyway.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, I watch people who want to do the right thing, but they don\u2019t do it the right way. \u00a0\u201cNo Contact Rule,\u201d<\/a> Reverse Psychology<\/a>, hypnosis, spells. . . you name it, I see people try it.<\/p>\n

And I watch their efforts fail. \u00a0Their desire to change things is absolutely there. \u00a0But the approach is in trouble. \u00a0It kind of reminds me of deciding to diet, then choosing an ice-cream diet. \u00a0Probably not going to get the results you want (although it does sound delicious).<\/p>\n

Starting with the best of intentions is a great beginning point. \u00a0But it has to be followed with an approach that works.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s talk about Doing The Right Thing<\/strong><\/em>, AND\u00a0Doing It The Right Way<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
