Josh White is a digital artist who describes himself simply as “learning by doing,” building most of his work with Nomad Sculpt on iPad and painting it in Procreateю

White’s process is distinctive: he sculpts scenes and objects in 3D using Nomad Sculpt and Feather 3D, then paints directly over the resulting renders in apps like Artstudio Pro, Procreate, Heavypaint, and Infinite Painter, blending sculptural form with painterly texture and light. Pieces like “Quiet City” and “Power Tower” started as rough 3D sketches before being reworked into finished, painterly sci-fi and concept-art scenes, while “Moonrise” began as still renders later assembled into an animation.

His subject matter leans heavily sci-fi and concept-art focused — vehicles in motion, dramatic architecture, atmospheric skies, and speculative machinery — captured in pieces like “Canyon Chase,” “First Launch,” and “Waiting for Orders.” He regularly shares full timelapses and close-up breakdowns of his pieces, treating his Instagram as both a portfolio and an open, in-progress record of his learning process across different digital-art tools.
