Such ads pass the first test of advertising \u2013 get noticed and then go on to be remembered or shared. This week: ads from MakeMyTrip, LG, Bayer and more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>MakeMyTrip &amp; Ministry of Tourism: stories &amp; memories<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MakeMyTrip and the Ministry of Tourism have come together to launch 350 guided tours across 60 Indian cities. A new film conveys that we bring \u2018incredible stories\u2019 back with us every time we travel to various parts of India. The \u2018story\u2019 bit ties nicely with listening to what local guides have to say about landmarks &amp; destinations. Very often without an authentic guide we wouldn\u2019t know much about the places we visit and end up just gazing at landmarks and taking pictures in front of them without knowing context or history. In the late \u201990s the tag line \u2018Life\u2019s Good\u2019 was created. It beautifully summed up the benefits of LG\u2019s devices and made it unique to the brand. A new film highlights how we are distracted and stressed by the constant notifications from the very devices that are meant to free us up.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mental load is the invisible burden of constant information, countless micro-decisions and everyday demands. Blood spitting out when you brush teeth would have led to a typical problem-solution approach in an ad. A new ad for Parodontax sets up a martial arts fight for the \u2018last tube\u2019 using toothbrushes and toothpicks as weapons and dental floss as a lasso! It\u2019s all good fun when the store manager arrives with more tubes of the toothpaste. The idea that you simply should not shrug off the sight of blood and carry on like in a typical action movie comes across in an entertaining manner.. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Agency: Grey<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bayer: Acid Mantle Tattoo cream<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Benefit laddering is common in advertising. The benefit is exaggerated or stretched so much that it tests the limits of credibility. Tattoo so lifelike (thanks to it being maintained well by a  product from Bayer) that animals think its real is brought alive through some beautiful art. <\/p>\n<figure The 10ft hairball represents the 167 billion hairs New Yorkers lose to shedding and creates awareness about premature hair aging. Disgustingly good, I suppose. Such stints depend largely on great PR coverage, and it seems to have achieved that in abundance. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Prada: urban beaches<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One shouldn\u2019t look for logic in luxury brand advertising. I often wonder what exactly works in this category? I am sure the craft and workmanship in physical products like handbags, jewellery and garments are there for all to see, feel and perceive. Maybe even perfume. But a new brand cannot simply create a product, price it high and expend the same fan following or desire that a brand like Prada gets.
