My favs from their list:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Core ETFs<\/strong> \u2013 such that diversification can be achieved by holding Canadian and\/or U.S. and\/or international equities for growth in many cases.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Asset Allocation ETFs<\/strong> \u2013 these are all-in-one solutions packaged by investor risk. I\u2019ve flagged my favourites in a post below.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sector ETFs<\/strong> \u2013 you can purchase ETFs that only hold stocks<span style=\"color: #555555;\"> from a certain sector, like banking or energy or tech. As I age, not a huge fan of these but I get the appeal. Besides, if you own any part of the U.S. S&amp;P 500 these days it\u2019s basically a tech index now so you get your tech sector concentration by investing in the U.S. stock market.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Dividend ETFs<\/strong> \u2013 yes, great for a blend of income and some upside growth as well. Here is a good reminder from the oldie but goodie file from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dividendgrowthinvestor.com\/2020\/06\/the-first-100000-is-hardest.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dividend Growth Investor for starters.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Given the first $100,000 invested is the hardest, some sage advice here:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe third lesson is about the power of compounding. It is a small trickle at the beginning. Once you invest for a while, the power of compounding becomes a wonderful force, which keeps accelerating net worth and investment income.
