Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has challenged the way some Christians understand God’s rewards, stating, “God will not reward your faithfulness with good health or prosperity; those are not rewards.”

Speaking during a recent teaching, Pastor Oyakhilome emphasized that believers should not view material prosperity or physical wellbeing as the ultimate measure of God’s reward for faithful service. He encouraged Christians to understand their relationship with God beyond material benefits and earthly circumstances.

His remarks have sparked conversations within Christian circles about faithfulness, prosperity, health, and the nature of divine rewards. Some believers agreed that Christian devotion should not be reduced to expectations of material blessings, while others noted that Scripture also contains passages describing God’s provision, blessing, and care for His people.

The statement has also renewed discussions about the motivations behind Christian service. Pastor Oyakhilome’s teaching challenges believers to examine whether they serve God because of what they expect to receive or because of genuine love, faith, and commitment to Him.

The message ultimately encourages Christians to develop a deeper understanding of their faith and to avoid measuring their relationship with God solely by their financial condition, health status, or other outward circumstances.

![""]("https://kingdomboiz.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/pastorchris59761084022709930.jpg")
