Noion<\/a><\/em> is a brand new record label founded by Paul Haslinger<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (Tangerine Dream, Lightwave) <\/em>and Christian Wittman<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (Lightwave). <\/em>The label aims to redefine \u2018listening with atmospheric minimalism, sound exploration, and genre-defying music \u2013 from ambient to contemporary classical and drone.\u2019<\/em>
To put that statement into practice, they\u2019re releasing two albumswith their own music. The albums are inspired by two influential writers from the 19th and 20th centuries: St\u00e9phane Mallarm\u00e9<\/em> and Jorge Luis Borges<\/em>.<\/p>\n

PAUL HASLINGER & CHRISTIAN WITTMAN \u2013 BORGES<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u201cOne of the most influential writers of the 20th<\/sup> century, Jorge Luis Borges was an Argentine short-story writer, essayist, poet and translator regarded as a key figure in Spanish-language and international literature. Renowned for his profound and poetic explorations of reality, time, and the nature of language, his works often delve into philosophical puzzles, blending fiction with metaphysical inquiries, and have had a major influence on the magical realist movement in 20th century Latin American literature.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

I must admit I am not familiar with Borges\u2019 <\/em>work. Perhaps I should be \u2026 and the music on the album definitely is a great invitation to do so.
The six tracks \u2013 ranging from 5 to 9 minutes, explore Borges\u2019 \u2018themes of illusion, memory, fiction, and the infinite [\u2026] The music \u2018mirrors the complexity of his literary universe.With its subliminal lines and expansive atmospheric textures, the music unfolds like a labyrinth \u2013 layered, intricate, and filled with subtle events<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The music on this album is \u2013 indeed \u2013 genre-defying. It is ambient, cinematic, electro-acoustic, but it also has contemporary-classical influences. It is not strictly \u2018electronic\u2019 also \u2018acoustic\u2019 music.<\/p>\n
