All three players should have some league minutes under their belts by the time second round play in the EFL Cup gets underway. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sebastian Berhalter, Aidan Morris, Max Arfsten, George Campbell, and Charlie Kelman round out the eight Americans in total that will be involved in the next round. Berhalter and Arfsten both helped Middlesbrough advance past Wrexham 1-0 in first round play while Campbell logged his first appearance of the new season in West Bromwich Albion\u2019s 4-1 win over Rotherham United.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Morris and Kelman did not feature in their respective clubs\u2019 matches. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wright and Coventry City will travel to League One side Plymouth Argyle looking to avoid a scare at Home Park. Robinson and Fulham welcome AFC Wimbledon to Craven Cottage in a local matchup between two of London\u2019s historic clubs. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aaronson and Leeds United will visit fellow Premier League side Nottingham Forest in the second round in the first of three head-to-head meetings between the two clubs. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Campbell and West Bromwich Albion received one of the tougher draws, facing Newcastle United at St. James Park. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kelman and Charlton Athletic take on London rivals Tottenham in the first head-to-head matchup between the clubs in 15 years. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The EFL Cup second round is slated to take place during the week of August 24, with the winners advancing to September\u2019s third round. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is a full breakdown of the second round matchups involving American players:<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Plymouth Argyle vs. <strong>Coventry City<\/strong> (Wright)<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Doncaster Rovers vs. <strong>Middlesbrough<\/strong> (Morris, Arfsten, Berhalter)<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Fulham<\/strong> (Robinson) vs. AFC Wimbledon<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nottingham Forest vs. <strong>Leeds United<\/strong> (Aaronson)<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tottenham vs. <strong>Charlton Athletic<\/strong> (Kelman)<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three more American players will enter the EFL Cup as the second round field and matchups are now set.
