Eight years ago, I stumbled into the world of blogging with Growing with Nemit.<\/p>\n
I had no idea what I was getting into. Even months into it, I was still figuring things out and constantly asking myself, \u201cWhy do people even do this? But honestly, it became addictive after a point. I loved writing, even though I wasn\u2019t great at it.<\/p>\n
Back then, I was going through an identity crisis. What started as an emotional outlet during my early motherhood days became a full-blown creative blogging journey <\/strong>for Growing with Nemit.<\/p>\n I still remember sitting at my desk at 2 a.m., typing out my experiences I wasn\u2019t sure anyone would read. But here we are \u2013 8 years, 100s of posts, videos, reels, detours, pauses, and comebacks later.<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t your typical anniversary post with tips or lessons. It\u2019s a conversation\u2026 a little messy, mostly heartfelt, honest and raw, between me and my blog, as we look back at how far we\u2019ve come.<\/p>\n Me:<\/strong> Hey\u2026 happy 8th birthday!\u00a0 Me:<\/strong> Oh come on, I\u2019ve been thinking about you. Life\u2019s just been\u2026 a lot. Me:<\/strong> Okay, ouch. That\u2019s fair. But I didn\u2019t forget. Just\u2026 paused. I thought about you a lot, I swear. Me:<\/strong> You are still my favourite. Don\u2019t tell the YouTube channel, but you\u2019re the one that gave me purpose when I was feeling lost. In July 2017, when I felt invisible in the whirlwind of new motherhood<\/a>, you gave me a voice. You helped me rediscover myself when I didn\u2019t know who I was outside being a mom. Me:<\/strong> Me too! You were my secret outlet. I still remember how we jumped and danced when we got monetized in 5 months<\/a>, and landed our first big collab in 7. We were on a roll! Me:<\/strong> Hehe, I know. Guilty as charged! That writing challenge and eBook drained me. But it showed me my strength and also taught me that I\u2019m not meant to write books, at least not yet. But we grew, didn\u2019t we? Me: <\/strong>Oh yes! That\u2019s when I started making YouTube<\/a> videos. I just wanted to document Nemit\u2019s first schooling experience, I mean, online school. Me:<\/strong> Aww, thank you. But I miss writing. I miss you. Me:<\/strong> Exactly. He was the reason I started writing, and now he\u2019s the reason I pause. His growth, his changing needs\u2026 they shape my content and my choices. That\u2019s why I\u2019m slowly shifting from core parenting to family travel. It just feels right.<\/p>\n Blog:<\/strong> And I\u2019m evolving with you. Quietly. No tantrums. Just waiting for your return. Blog:<\/strong> Wait, we did that? Even with all your \u201cI\u2019ll post tomorrow\u201d drafts and abandoned calendars? Well, I always knew you had it in you. You never stopped growing. And honestly, I\u2019ve grown with you. Blog:<\/strong> You mean\u2026 we\u2019re still relevant? So\u2026 not quitting on me yet? Blog:<\/strong> Wow, that\u2019s deep. Blog:<\/strong> One step at a time. You\u2019ve always done it your way and look how far we\u2019ve come. Blog:<\/strong> Then go on. Hit publish. And maybe update my theme sometime before 2030? I used to call this blog my baby. But now, it feels more like a friend I can laugh with, cry with, and be honest with, no matter how long we\u2019ve been apart.<\/p>\n This space has seen every version of me\u2026 overwhelmed mom, excited blogger, exhausted creator, backlog vlogger, full-time dreamer. And through it all, it\u2019s been a quiet witness to growing with Nemit<\/strong>, and growing into myself.<\/p>\n No, I\u2019m not consistent. That\u2019s it for this post. Blog:<\/strong> Oh really? So that dusty \u201cdrafts\u201d folder was your love language? I\u2019m just saying, we\u2019ve been through a lot together. I kind of miss being your favourite.<\/p>\n
Blog:<\/strong> Yeah, I remember. You\u2019d pour your heart into midnight posts while Nemit slept. That \u201cgrowth spurt\u201d post? Classic. I miss those days!<\/p>\n
Blog:<\/strong> Ah, the golden years! When your fingers typed faster than your brain, and we hit \u2018publish\u2019 without overthinking.<\/p>\nMe:<\/strong> Haha, yeah! Do you remember our first blogging challenge in Sep 2017 \u2013 \u20189 days of womanhood<\/a>\u2018 that we actually won? And our favourite, My Friend Alexa<\/a> with Blogchatter in 2018?
Blog:<\/strong> How could I forget? Those were the glory days! And then in 2019, the A2Z Challenge<\/a> and your first eBook \u2013 \u2018Travel India With A Toddler\u2019<\/a>. You basically squeezed the soul out of both of us that month.<\/h3>\n
Blog:<\/strong> We did. I loved that you didn\u2019t ghost me during Covid. You kept writing, and you also picked up the camera!<\/p>\n
Blog:<\/strong> And turns out, it worked. Your channel grew. Now, you\u2019ve found a new way to tell your stories through your travels. Me:<\/strong> Wait, you know that? Do you watch my vlogs?
Blog:<\/strong> I may be neglected, but I\u2019m still loyal. I watch all your vlogs, the ones that you embed in blogposts and even those that you sneak into the footer.<\/p>\n
Blog:<\/strong> I know. I see your drafts open and close like elevator doors. But through it all, you kept growing with Nemit<\/strong>. That\u2019s the real story, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n
Me:<\/strong> Thank you\u2026 for being that space I can always come back to.<\/p>\nBlog:<\/strong> So\u2026 now what? Big relaunch? Content calendar?
Me:<\/strong> Haha, no grand plans. But yes, I do want to revamp a few things. Also, did you see? We made it to Feedspot\u2019s Top 100 Indian Mom Influencers<\/a> in Jan this year! Then came the Top 100 Mom Blogs<\/a> in Feb, and in May, we landed a spot in the Top 30 Indian Mom Blogs<\/a>.<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n
Me:<\/strong> Haha, guilty. But I guess something\u2019s still working\u2026 even in the chaos. And, thank you!<\/p>\n
Me:<\/strong> Never. I might pause. I might wander. But I\u2019ll always come back. Because this space \u2013 you \u2013 is home.<\/p>\n
Me:<\/strong> Haha, I\u2019ve had practice. But yes, I just wish we get recognized in the travel genre now. That\u2019s where I find myself these days\u2026 on the road, with my camera, telling stories.<\/p>\n
Me:<\/strong> Yeah. As long as we\u2019re growing (with Nemit), with stories, and with purpose\u2026 I\u2019m happy.<\/p>\n
