What was once open and affordable is now a premium, curated experience.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"720\" data-end=\"723\"\/>\n<h2 data-start=\"725\" data-end=\"778\">Kalpitti: From Popular Escape to Restricted Zone<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"780\" data-end=\"1124\">Since October last year, access to <strong data-start=\"815\" data-end=\"842\">Bangaram and Thinnakara<\/strong> had become uncertain for ordinary travelers. With those luxury resort islands increasingly difficult to reach without special bookings, tourists in <strong>Agatti<\/strong> turned instead to <strong data-start=\"1016\" data-end=\"1035\">Kalpitti Island<\/strong> \u2014 a sandbank lagoon escape that quickly became the most popular mid-budget attraction.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1126\" data-end=\"1542\">Now, Kalpitti too falls under the latest restrictions. As an <strong data-start=\"1187\" data-end=\"1209\">uninhabited island<\/strong>, visiting it will require <strong data-start=\"1236\" data-end=\"1256\">extra permission<\/strong> beyond the standard Lakshadweep entry permit. This means more paperwork, added security checks, and inevitably higher costs. The exact price and process for these special clearances remain unknown, but it is clear that the island is no longer the easy-access alternative it once was.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1544\" data-end=\"1547\"\/>\n<h2 data-start=\"1549\" data-end=\"1597\">Bangaram and Thinnakara: The Maldives Model<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1599\" data-end=\"1889\">The two crown jewels of Lakshadweep \u2014 <strong data-start=\"1637\" data-end=\"1664\">Bangaram and Thinnakara<\/strong> \u2014 are also being reshaped. Both islands host luxury beach resorts, and under the new rules, only <strong data-start=\"1762\" data-end=\"1784\">bona fide tourists<\/strong> with extra clearance can enter.
