Peace of mind is how I long to characterize my life. Why is it then, that fear and anxiety are continually chasing it away? In all the years I\u2019ve pursued peace, I didn\u2019t find it consistently until I began to ask the right question. The stories of peace in the Bible, or people pursuing peace are remarkable!<\/p>\n Specifically, how many times is peace mentioned in the New Testament? There are over 60 New Testament Scriptures on peace KJV or ESV. <\/p>\n Did you notice that is over half the references to peace? <\/p>\n I propose that the Apostles mention peace so much more often because of the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit living within us allows us access to the gifts of the Spirit, among which is peace.<\/p>\n We are striving for peace of mind, but to understand that we need to first define peace.<\/p>\n If the culture sees peace of mind as becoming mentally free from worry, how does the Bible define peace? Surprisingly, the Bible does NOT mention peace of mind.<\/p>\n Instead, Scripture talks a lot about the peace of God. A LOT!<\/p>\n Here is a perfect peace-of-mind Bible verse to help us answer the question.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.\u201d (Philippians 4:7\u00a0<\/a>NASB)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n If we had to create a peace of God<\/span> definition it would be different from the definition of peace of mind<\/span>. <\/p>\n We, as Believers, often search for a stress-free mindset. What we should be searching for, however, is the peace of God. But what is that?<\/p>\n Characteristics of peace in the Bible, God\u2019s peace, are all about having a tranquil soul, or a stillness of the soul. This doesn\u2019t have to do with our circumstances. He promised that He would leave us peace when He returned to heaven. <\/p>\n His peace would not<\/strong> be like the world\u2019s version of peace that depended upon your circumstances. Nope, this peace would come even in hard times! In fact, this is one of my favorite Bible verses about peace in hard times!<\/p>\n Jesus promised peace. We are searching for peace. That is perfect!<\/p>\n I battle anxiety. It can be crippling. I need constant reminders about His peace that passes understanding! Constant!<\/p>\n For me, it wasn\u2019t enough to just answer the questions\u2026 <\/p>\n I mean, there are tons of questions, but the point is that I found one passage that answered most of those questions. <\/p>\n Philippians 4:6-9 gives clear directions about how to find peace of mind. The problem was that I didn\u2019t understand it well. <\/p>\n So, I began to study each word and phrase. As I learned I began to be able to easily apply the ideas. That\u2019s when things changed in my mind. When fear and anxiety threaten, I now know how to fight the real battle! I have the tools to access the peace of God! <\/p>\n I want to give you those tools!<\/p>\n You can have real victory over fear and anxiety!!!!!<\/p>\n That\u2019s what this Bible study will teach you. There are 8 practical tools in Philippians that you can access anytime anyplace to find peace regardless of your situation!<\/p>\n How can you use this study? <\/p>\n The thing is, finding peace in God is very personal. This is not just about finding bigger answers to questions like, \u201cWhat does the Bible say about world peace.\u201d Nope. This is about peace within. Personal peace!<\/p>\n \u201cThe\u00a0Lord\u00a0gives strength to his people; Your personal peace matters to God!<\/p>\n And what does the Bible say about peace in your heart?
