The Cold Desert Biosphere Reserve<\/strong> in Himachal Pradesh has been officially inducted into the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR)<\/strong>. The announcement was made at the World Congress of Biosphere Reserves<\/em> in Hangzhou, China, highlighting the region\u2019s importance as a model for sustainable development, biodiversity conservation, and community-based tourism<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Spanning approximately 7,770 sq. km<\/strong> in the Western Himalayas<\/strong>, the reserve is known for its rugged terrain, alpine meadows, and high-altitude ecosystems<\/strong>, supporting rare wildlife including the snow leopard<\/strong> and Himalayan ibex<\/strong>.
