href=\"https:\/\/rosilindjukic.com\/hygge-biblical-for-christian-women\/\">More comfort<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More pleasure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our culture tells us that happiness is found in getting everything we\u2019ve ever wanted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But if that\u2019s true\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why are so many class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Have you ever seen pleasure elevated to the degree that it is today in this hyper-sexualized, hedonistic culture?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We see it in every area of our culture:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bridezillas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dream homes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luxury travel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Social media.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFollow your heart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hygge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everywhere we look, we\u2019re told:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Follow your heart.<\/li>\n<li>You deserve it.<\/li>\n<li>Live your best life.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t settle.<\/li>\n<li>You only live once.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The message is always the same.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Your happiness is the highest goal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus couldn\u2019t have been clearer.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cDo not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blueletterbible.org\/nkjv\/mat\/6\/19-21\/s_935019\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matthew 6:19-21<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Moses Had Seen Both Worlds<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moses, a man whose life was marked by astonishing extremes, gives us perspective in a way that surely he shares from his own personal experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was born at a time in history when having children was extremely risky, because every male Hebrew child was executed at birth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God miraculously spared his life, and he was returned to his biological mother until he was weaned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His most formative years were marked by slavery, poverty, and the anguish of his Hebrew heritage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Afterward, he was sent to live with his adoptive family, Pharaoh\u2019s daughter, where he had every amenity provided for him, from material possessions to his education. He lacked nothing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, following a violent outburst during which he killed an Egyptian official attacking a Hebrew slave, he fled into the desert, where he became a shepherd.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He once again lived a life of simplicity, leaving behind the indulgence of his Egyptian upbringing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And it is from this life experience that we read his prayer:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cThe days of our lives are seventy years; and if by reason of strength\u00a0they are eighty years, yet their boast\u00a0is only labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Who knows the power of Your anger? For as the fear of You,\u00a0so is Your wrath. So teach\u00a0us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blueletterbible.org\/nkjv\/psa\/90\/10-12\/s_568010\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Psalm 90:10-12<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The New Living Translation reads this way, <em>\u201cSeventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty. But even the best years are filled with pain and trouble; soon they disappear, and we fly away. Who can comprehend the power of your anger? Your wrath is as awesome as the fear you deserve. Remember How Short Life Is<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This life is as fleeting as the moment we can see our breath on a cold December morning. You blink, and it\u2019s gone. For some, it\u2019s gone quicker than for others.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And when we step back and look at the timeline of the world from God\u2019s perspective and see that 70-80 years is a barely-visible dot on the screen, we have to ask ourselves, is all of the success and indulgence really worth it?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What does it all mean after we\u2019re gone?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What will we have to answer for when we are face-to-face with Almighty God?<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Ask Yourself One Question Every Day<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we surrender our lives to God, we surrender the right to live in a way that brings us pleasure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the moment we become children of God, our sole purpose in life is to live in a way that brings pleasure and glory to God.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The blessing that comes from that is that God allows us to experience the result of His pleasure and glory \u2014 we experience joy and pleasure when He is glorified through us!<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The wisest question we can ask ourselves daily is:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The wisest question you can ask yourself every day is simply this:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Will this matter 100 years from now?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or better yet\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Will this matter in eternity?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That question has a way of putting everything into perspective.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If it doesn\u2019t matter for eternity, then it is of little importance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cBut on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person\u2019s work has any value. If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.\u201d 1 Corinthians 3:13-15<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What matters for eternity is what builds and advances God\u2019s kingdom. Everything else will perish in the fire that tests our works.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Christ becomes our greatest treasure, we stop looking to the world to tell us who we are or what will satisfy us.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our culture says,<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLive for today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scripture says,<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLive for eternity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every decision we make moves us toward one treasure or the other.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So today\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">number your days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fix your eyes on eternity.<\/p>\n<p
