But I think leaders especially don\u2019t like to lose.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Try as we might to keep our egos out of our leadership, it hurts our pride when we experience failure. As leaders, we\u2019re \u201csupposed to\u201d be successful. We\u2019re \u201csupposed to\u201d have it all together. We\u2019re\u00a0<em>not<\/em>\u00a0supposed to lose.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But we all lose sometime. Renowned author and leadership expert John Maxwell wrote about this in a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnmaxwell.com\/blog\/on-turning-a-loss-into-a-gain-adapted-from-sometimes-you-win-sometimes-you\">blog post<\/a>\u00a0several years ago adapted from his book,\u00a0<em>Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Learn.<\/em>\u00a0Maxwell states,<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf you\u2019re going to lose\u2014and you are because everyone does\u2014then why not turn it into a gain? How do you do that? By learning from it. A loss isn\u2019t totally a loss if you learn something as a result of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Maxwell explains, when you experience a loss or failure, you can choose to change, grow, and learn from it. While this is much easier said than done, it\u00a0<em>is<\/em>\u00a0possible! And learning from your loss makes it less of a loss\u2026 and more of a win.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So how about you? Do you learn when you lose?
