We\u2019re heading into the holiday season \u2013 a time for family and friends to be traveling, visiting and staying over. How is your guest bedroom situation?<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t have a dedicated guest bedroom, so anyone who comes to stay ends up on an air mattress in my home office. The other choice is the living room, but it doesn\u2019t have a door and the only bathroom is off the living room \u2013 so it lacks privacy. At least my office has a door and therefor some privacy. I do have a dedicated set of linens and pillows for the room \u2013 anything to make the air mattress seem more luxe! But, planning his stay has got me dreaming of having a dedicated guest bedroom \u2013 I\u2019d so love that!<\/p>\n

One of my inspirations for a great guest bedroom are usually those found in boutique hotels. They usually have a great combination of beautiful, comfortable and welcoming. A little bit upscale, a little bit homey. The good ones strike just the right balance. Here are some that I really love:<\/p>\n

The Jane Hotel in New York is quirky and defiantly old-school<\/a>. It\u2019s definitely on my list of places to stay!<\/p>\n

Blue Inn in Newburyport is another place on my \u201cmust-stay\u201d list. The rooms come in varying sizes and amenities, but all look amazing.<\/p>\n

I think what all these hotel guest bedroom s have in common is that they are relatively simple and could easily be created at home. Amenities include reading lights, lovely bedding and pretty details.<\/p>\n

Here are 10 quick tips for creating a special guest room that would shine in a blog post:<\/p>\n

  • Plush Bedding<\/strong>
    Invest in high-quality, soft sheets and a variety of pillows to ensure a comfortable night\u2019s sleep. A cozy throw blanket adds an extra touch of warmth.<\/li>\n
  • Bedside Necessities<\/strong>
    Include a bedside table with a reading lamp, phone charger, water carafe, and a few books or magazines for easy access.<\/li>\n
  • Fresh Flowers<\/strong>
    A small vase of fresh flowers or a potted plant adds life and freshness to the room, creating an inviting atmosphere.<\/li>\n
  • Luxurious Towels and Toiletries<\/strong>
    Provide fluffy towels, extra toiletries (like shampoo, conditioner, and lotion), and maybe a bathrobe to make guests feel pampered.<\/li>\n
