{"id":7032464,"date":"2026-08-07T19:21:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-07T19:21:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/uncategorized\/kemi-badenoch-pens-letter-to-clacton-voters-ahead-of-by-election\/"},"modified":"2026-08-07T19:21:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-07T19:21:09","slug":"kemi-badenoch-pens-letter-to-clacton-voters-ahead-of-by-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=7032464","title":{"rendered":"Kemi Badenoch pens letter to Clacton voters ahead of by-election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Badenoch wrote: &#8220;Mr Farage wants the people of Clacton to settle his problems for him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;He wants to point to you and say, &#8216;even after the \u00a35m scandal, Clacton still chose me&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;The people of Clacton are entitled to ask why someone would donate Nigel Farage that kind of money&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Farage previously said the money was for his security, given to him &#8220;with the knowledge that the state in this country has never, ever wanted to help&#8221; with his personal protection.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Badenoch, who is the North West Essex MP, continued: &#8220;When the proper process has run its course and there is a genuine contest, we will be there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I will put forward a serious candidate who understands that representing Clacton is a job \u2014 someone who turns up, listens, holds meetings and works for the people who live here.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;When the real choice comes, the Conservatives will be there and I hope we can earn your support.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Farage&#8217;s opponents in Clacton include Count Binface, actor-turned-politician Laurence Fox, and three candidates from the Official Monster Raving Loony Party \u2013 Nick The Incredible Flying Brick, its leader Alan &#8220;Howling Laud&#8221; Hope and Baron Von Thunderclap.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A spokesperson for Reform UK said: &#8220;If Kemi Badenoch and the Conservatives truly had any respect for democracy they would have stood a candidate in this by-election. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;The truth is that the Tories have turned their backs on the people of Clacton by refusing to put up a candidate. It&#8217;s the latest in a long list of betrayals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Voters here have the chance to send a resounding message to the Tories and the rest of the failing political establishment by voting for Nigel Farage and Reform next Thursday.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The constituency includes the towns of Clacton-on-Sea, Frinton-on-Sea and Walton-on-the-Naze, as well as villages stretching inland to Frating, Tendring, Wix  and Little Oakley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A full list of the 34 candidates is available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/crlw69p6lyeo\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">Do you have a story suggestion for Essex?
