Robust storytelling and world-building

!["Anime-Style]("https://i0.wp.com/www.360fov.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/image.png?resize=900%2C291&ssl=1")

Summary

“Metaphor: ReFantazio” is as a strong RPG, building on the foundations of the Persona series yet taking a distinct path. Compared to Persona 5, the game features less repetitive structures, more animated cutscenes, and allows for dynamic gameplay that doesn’t tether players to rigid story patterns. However, the review notes that its heavy focus on combat may detract from memorable character interactions and a lasting impression similar to its predecessors. While the game retains a sense of adventure and presents varied and upgraded dungeon experiences, some design choices might not appeal to those seeking seamless gameplay. The archetype system offers customization freedom, but character engagement appears to lack the vibrancy and charm associated with games like Persona 5. Ultimately, while deemed a fantastic RPG, “Metaphor: ReFantazio” might leave players admiring its construction without deep emotional ties to its world or characters.

Reviews for Metaphor have been very favourable, even scoring a whopping 10/10 at Gamespot, hailing it as one of Atlus’ best games.

|
