A trip to Hamilton always feels a little like coming home for us. Dave\u2019s dad was born and raised in Hamilton, and Dave spent much of his childhood visiting family in the city. We\u2019ve watched \u201cThe Hammer\u201d change from the Steeltown we knew as kids into one of Ontario\u2019s most interesting places to visit.<\/p>\n

Hamilton has always had history, grit, and character, albeit today, it also has waterfalls, hiking trails, waterfront parks, museums, restaurants, art galleries, street festivals, and one of the best food scenes in Southern Ontario.<\/p>\n

Now that we have friends in the area, we visit often and are always discovering something new therefore this guide brings together the classic Hamilton attractions we\u2019ve loved for years with the newer energy that makes the city so fun to explore today.<\/p>\n

2. Explore the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum<\/h3>\n

Located beside Hamilton International Airport, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is a must for aviation and history lovers. It houses a major collection of Canadian military aircraft, including vintage planes connected to Canada\u2019s wartime history.<\/p>\n

The highlight is the Avro Lancaster, one of the museum\u2019s most famous aircraft and if you time your visit right, you may even see vintage aircraft taking off.<\/p>\n
