<\/p>\n

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is expected to return to Carrington next week.<\/p>\n

He spent the previous campaign on loan at Barcelona, netting 28 goals and helping the Catalans claim the La Liga title.<\/p>\n

The Spanish champions had the option to complete a permanent \u00a326 million transfer but ultimately chose not to activate the clause.<\/p>\n

Rashford is currently on an extended break after his involvement in the FIFA World Cup but is set to begin pre-season under United head coach Michael Carrick.<\/p>\n

Many believed Rashford had already played his final match for United, but there is now a genuine possibility that Carrick reintegrates him into the squad.<\/p>\n

Amorim played a crucial role in forcing Rashford out<\/h2>\n

Rashford actually scored the first goal of the Ruben Amorim era at Old Trafford before everything rapidly unravelled.<\/p>\n

Amorim excluded Rashford from more than 10 matchday squads before eventually approving his loan move to Aston Villa in January 2025.<\/p>\n

From that moment onwards, the academy graduate never represented his boyhood club again.<\/p>\n

Now, football has handed Rashford an opportunity that few could have predicted.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils will face AC Milan in their final pre-season friendly on August 15.<\/p>\n

The Italian giants recently appointed Amorim as their new head coach.<\/p>\n

Many United supporters are already eagerly anticipating the encounter, hoping Carrick can get the better of his predecessor.<\/p>\n

Although Amorim endured a difficult spell at Old Trafford, supporters continued to back him throughout his tenure.<\/p>\n

Many fans were disappointed by the manner of his departure, believing he failed to properly acknowledge either the club or its supporters.<\/p>\n

Rashford may not start against Milan after returning later than most of the squad but he could make a brief second-half appearance.<\/p>\n

If Rashford were to score against Amorim\u2019s Milan side, it would undoubtedly be a deeply satisfying moment for him.<\/p>\n
