In a powerful demonstration of faith expressed through action, the Jerry Eze Foundation has disbursed N1 billion in grants to 240 small and micro business owners across Nigeria, reinforcing the biblical principle that giving can transform lives and communities.

The grant award ceremony, held in Abuja, saw each beneficiary receive $3,000 to start, grow, or transform their businesses—an initiative that reflects a deeper calling to empower others and create lasting impact.

Giving as a Kingdom Mandate

Founded by Jerry Eze, the Foundation represents a growing movement within the Church—one that sees charity not just as relief, but as empowerment.

Speaking at the event, Pastor Jerry Eze reflected on the personal inspiration behind the initiative:

“My late mum was the one who taught me that you can give everything… she could have nothing, and still find something to give.”

His words echo the spirit of Scripture—where generosity is not measured by abundance, but by the heart behind the gift. The initiative stands as a reminder that Christian giving is not merely about meeting needs, but about raising people to become channels of blessing themselves.

Stewardship and Responsibility

The process leading up to the grants was rigorous and transparent. Global consulting firm KPMG was engaged to oversee the selection process, ensuring fairness and accountability.

Out of over 16,000 applicants, only 240 were selected—each representing not just a business idea, but a responsibility to steward the opportunity wisely.

In her keynote address, Oby Ezekwesili challenged the recipients to think beyond survival:

“The resources have been placed in your hands… the acceptable direction is impact at scale. Africa is watching. Build accordingly.”

For believers, this message resonates deeply with the biblical call to stewardship—“to whom much is given, much is required” (Luke 12:48).

From Potential to Purpose

Also speaking at the event, Ibukun Awosika encouraged beneficiaries to embrace humility and learning:

“The smartest entrepreneurs are not the ones who know everything… but those who are willing to learn and build with others.”

Her message aligns with the Christian understanding of community—that growth is not a solo journey, but one that thrives through fellowship, mentorship, and shared wisdom.

Faith, Enterprise, and Nation Building

The Foundation’s focus on sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and technology reflects a broader vision: to see faith contribute meaningfully to national development.

In a country where many small businesses struggle to access funding, initiatives like this demonstrate how the Church can play a transformative role—not only in spiritual matters but also in economic empowerment.

The gathering brought together leaders from government, business, ministry, and entertainment, highlighting a unique convergence of influence united around a shared purpose: to see lives changed and communities uplifted.

A Call to Multiply the Seed

Beyond the celebration, the message to beneficiaries was clear: this is a seed, not an end.

Pastor Jerry Eze urged recipients to focus on value creation and impact—not just personal success, but transformation that reaches families, communities, and the nation.

“By next year, you will stand here and testify how big your business has become.”

This reflects a timeless biblical principle—that what is given faithfully can multiply beyond expectation.

The Jerry Eze Foundation’s N1 billion intervention stands as more than a charitable act. It is a testimony of what happens when faith meets action—a reminder that the Church is called not only to preach hope, but to build it, fund it, and empower others to live it.
