\u201cIf you\u2019re coming to Thailand and you’re talking to the local people, we always smile to you first \u2026 because we still believe if you smile to the world, they will always smile back to you,\u201d<\/i> says Sonny Prarohittanont, a Chief Experience Officer<\/a> in Thailand.<\/p>\n

\"CEO<\/figure>\n

Prarohittanont is one of many working in Thailand\u2019s travel industry that takes immense pride in his job. While the work can often be fast-paced, he emphasizes he is always ready \u2014 and sticks to a simple motto that he lives by each day: \u201cTake it easy.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

For Prarohittanont, being a CEO isn\u2019t about long meetings or detailed spreadsheets, it\u2019s about bridging cultures and ensuring that travellers feel welcomed into his homeland. <\/p>\n

Whether he\u2019s teaching a visitor the subtle grace of the \u201cwai\u201d greeting or introducing them to iconic local meals, his mission is to educate and connect travellers to Thai communities.<\/p>\n

“I like to be changing people’s lives and making people happy with the community,”<\/i> he says. <\/p>\n

“Because on my personal level, I like to make people around me happy all the time. If you\u2019re happy, I\u2019m always happier.”<\/i><\/p>\n

Three things that Prarohittanont emphasizes travellers cannot miss when coming to Thailand are: trekking through jungle life in Chiang Mai, basking in the scenery at Khao Sok National Park and snorkelling in Ko Lipe.<\/p>\n

In addition, Prarohittanont emphasizes it\u2019s essential to make a stop \u2014 or multiple \u2014 at local 7-Eleven stores to stock up on unique snacks and personal items.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey sell everything. Ham and cheese toasties, milk, medical tablets, Tiger balm, barbeque \u2013 everything!\u201d<\/i> he says.<\/p>\n
