Most tenured Epic organizations\u00a0don’t\u00a0lack ideas for improvement. What they lack is\u00a0a clear\u00a0view\u00a0of where the Epic environment stands today, and a way to separate what\u00a0can’t\u00a0wait from what can be planned.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A decade of Epic ownership produces a predictable set of symptoms. Why Epic Environments Drift<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

No one decides to let an Epic environment drift. It happens gradually\u00a0across\u00a0common areas.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Governance erodes. The charter that worked at go-live goes stale. Committees still meet, but decisions slow down, and requests start routing around the process instead of through it. The optimization backlog outgrows the roadmap. Requests come in faster than the team can clear them. Most have activated fewer than five. Foundation pressure builds. Epic is\u00a0pushing\u00a0Foundation conversion conversations, and the quotes attached to them can run well into eight figures and beyond.\u00a0That’s\u00a0the biggest IT decision most boards will face this decade, and\u00a0an Epic Foundation conversion of that size deserves\u00a0an independent, evidence-based diagnostic before anyone writes the first capital check.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
