The show will air Monday, August 10, at 11 a.m. ET, completing MS NOW\u2019s new schedule revamp.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alexander, who will be based in Washington, D.C., and is also the network\u2019s chief national reporter and breaking news anchor, will provide viewers with authoritative reporting, thoughtful conversations, and in-depth analysis of the biggest political and national stories shaping the day on his new program, according to MS NOW. The show will be executive produced by\u00a0<strong>Sandi Cohen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a memo to staffers, svp of programming\u00a0<strong>Greg Kordick<\/strong>\u00a0said State of Play is built around Alexander\u2019s \u201ctrusted reporting, deep experience covering Washington, and unmatched relationships across government and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alexander\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/tvnewser\/peter-alexander-joins-ms-now-as-daytime-anchor\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">joined MS NOW from NBC News in March<\/a>, where he was a fixture since 2004. He was most recently the network\u2019s chief White House correspondent and co-anchor of Saturday Today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State of Play is the final missing piece <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/tvnewser\/ms-now-reveals-new-show-names-ahead-of-debuts\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/tvnewser\/ms-now-reveals-new-show-names-ahead-of-debuts\/\" target=\"_blank\">of a June scheduling revamp<\/a> touching all dayparts at MS NOW.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The network already debuted\u00a0<strong>Stephanie\u00a0Ruhle<\/strong>\u2018s new two-hour morning show airing at 9 a.m. titled Money, Power, Politics with Stephanie Ruhle.<em>\u00a0<\/em>In addition, On the Line with\u00a0<strong>Alicia Menendez<\/strong>\u00a0airs from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m, and\u00a0<strong>Katy Tur<\/strong>\u2019s midafternoon program got a new name: The Moment with\u00a0<strong>Katy Tur.\u00a0<\/strong>Meanwhile, Ruhle\u2019s former 11 p.m. slot was renamed The 11th Hour with\u00a0<strong>Ali Velshi<\/strong>, and the weekend hours of Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. were rebranded as Connect with\u00a0<strong>Jacob Soboroff<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The weekend changes continued with the cancellation of The Weekend: Primetime in June, as MS NOW focuses on re-airing its video podcasts as well as\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/tvnewser\/ticker-ms-now-signs-deal-with-crooked-media\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">its Crooked on MS NOW offerings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"horizontal-teaser my-4 py-4 border-top border-bottom\">\n<section class=\"Horizontal_Teaser row d-flex justify-content-center align-items-center\">\n<div class=\"section--teaser_partner col-12 col-md-6 col-xl-4\">                     <a class=\"link-reset text-decoration-none\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/tvnewser\/week-of-july-6-2026-cable-news-ratings\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/static-www.adweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/new-cable-news-ratings-2025.jpg?w=640&amp;h=360&amp;crop=1\" alt=\"MS NOW was also the first to break the news of Lindsey Graham&#x2019;s death.\" aria-label=\"MS NOW was also the first to break the news of Lindsey Graham&#x2019;s death.\" class=\"image image--partner\"\/><\/a>                 <\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday, MS NOW announced the highly anticipated debut of\u00a0Peter Alexander\u2019s new weekday show, State of Play with Peter Alexander.
