A bounce may be either temporary (<em>soft bounce<\/em>) or permanent (<em>hard bounce<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Delayed<\/strong><strong><br \/><\/strong>A waiting period during which the system continues attempting delivery before determining whether the failure should be classified as a soft bounce.<\/p>\n<p>To help you better understand the overall health of your recipient lists from the <strong>Recipients<\/strong> tab, three list statuses are now available:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"428\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.scoop.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Screenshot-2026-06-08-at-11.45.23-1024x428.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25074\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.scoop.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Screenshot-2026-06-08-at-11.45.23-1024x428.png 1024w, https:\/\/blog.scoop.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Screenshot-2026-06-08-at-11.45.23-300x125.png 300w, https:\/\/blog.scoop.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Screenshot-2026-06-08-at-11.45.23-768x321.png 768w, https:\/\/blog.scoop.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Screenshot-2026-06-08-at-11.45.23-1536x642.png 1536w, https:\/\/blog.scoop.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Screenshot-2026-06-08-at-11.45.23-2048x856.png 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><\/figure>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>OK<\/li>\n<li>Hard Bounce<\/li>\n<li>Soft Bounce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The last two statuses are displayed only after <strong>three consecutive failed delivery attempts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This rule helps prevent valid email addresses from being removed prematurely, as some email servers may temporarily reject a newsletter or classify it as spam during one or two delivery attempts before accepting it on a subsequent send.<\/p>\n<p>When a hard or soft bounce status is confirmed, the email address is automatically removed from the recipient list.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, it remains possible to reactivate a previously disabled email address at any time.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Understanding Bounce Types<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Hard Bounce<\/strong><strong><br \/><\/strong>A permanent delivery failure. The recipient\u2019s email address is invalid or no longer exists.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Soft Bounce<\/strong><strong><br \/><\/strong>A temporary delivery failure.
