Ranthambore is one of the most
\ncharismatic parks in India famous for its wildlife and birds. Ranthambore has a
\nhistory as well. Long ruled by the Rajput clans that created magnificent
\nstructures some of which still remain intact. While on safari you can see
\nmanmade lakes, a fort, and the famous Ganesh Temple.<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

The Ranthambore fort is now
\ndevoid of humans and only the tigers inhabit it. On a tiger safari tourists see
\ntigers sheltered in the ancient structure and ruins which makes the safari not
\nonly exciting but romantic as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ranthambore National Park<\/b><\/p>\n

The park was first established as
\nSawai Madhopur Game century in the year 1955. The former hunting ground of the
\nMaharaja or Jaipur the last ruler was declared a Tiger Reserve in the year 1973
\nand a National Park in the year 1980. <\/p>\n

Tigers of Ranthambore<\/b><\/p>\n

The park was made famous by
\nMachli the tigress who had developed a hunting method in water. She would hide
\nnear the lakes in the bushes to wait for the deer to come to the lake
\nto browse aquatic plants. At an opportune moment, she would rush into the
\nwaters to kill the panicked deer and drag them into the shores to consume. This
\nis not the end of the story for many times her prey would be grabbed by the
\ncrocodiles and an exciting tussle would ensue. This made Ranthambore famous all
\nacross the globe and major documentary makers and wildlife photographers
\narrived on a filming spree to Ranthambore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Many documentaries have been made
\nof Macchli hunting the deer and a tussle with crocodiles has also been filmed.
\nRanthambore is famous for its tigers and some of the tigers like Macchli,
\nUstad, Sundari, Bina, Romeo, Laila, Dollar, Zalim, have become legendary and
\nfamous for the period of their rule.<\/p>\n

Ranthambore National Park is
\nfamous not only for tigers it is host to a number of enchanting mammals. On a
\ntiger safari, you can find leopards, sloth bears, deer, Nilgai, langur monkeys,
\nrhesus macaque, wild boar, wild dogs, and more. There are more than two hundred
\nand fifty avian species that make the park their home. <\/p>\n

The park is situated near Sawai
\nMadhopur township at a distance of 14 km. Sawai Madhopur is 175 km from Jaipur the capital city
\nof the State of Rajasthan in India. Jaipur is well connected to New Delhi by,
\nrail, road, and air. <\/p>\n
