Tiger safaris in India are
\norganized by National Park and sanctuaries in the core area and the buffer. The
\ncore area is defined as per law where only wild animals have the right to live.
\nExcept for the protection guard, no humans are allowed to venture in. No
\ncommercial activity or intrusion can take place.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>The area is strictly guarded and
\nwell-protected breeding grounds for wild animals.<\/span><\/p>\nThe buffer zone is an area
\noutside the limits of the core area and some commercial activities are allowed
\nno heavy industries are permitted. Human settlement, few hotels, and
\nagriculture outside the limits of the reserved forests are permitted. <\/p>\n
Safari at Nagzira Navegaon <\/p>\n
For tourism purposes, a safari
\npermit is required from the State Government and the permits can be obtained
\nonline from the State Government Website of Maharashtra.<\/p>\n
Nagzira or Navegaon is a
\nprotected area, and it is also a tiger reserve and a wildlife sanctuary
\nsituated near Gondia in the State of Maharashtra. It is well known for its
\ntigers and black panthers The black panthers are occasionally seen.\u00a0 The destination is named after the temple of
\nNag (Cobra Snake) which is right in the middle of the forest. Zira in Marathi
\nis a perennial source of water that flows down from the mountain of Pomgara,
\nthus the name Nagzira.\u00a0\u00a0 A nearby village
\ncalled Nangthana also adds up to the name. <\/p>\n
It is a picturesque destination
\nand serves as a virtual outdoor museum for visitors who come here often on
\nwildlife, tiger safaris, and birding. The wildlife includes megafauna and small
\nanimals some of which are nocturnal.\u00a0 The
\nwild animals that are found here are:<\/p>\n
Tiger Safari and Wildlife<\/b><\/p>\n
Tiger, leopard, gaur, sambar,
\nchital, sloth bear, barking deer, mouse deer, wild boar, wild dog. Nearly
\n30,000 visitors come here on tiger safari. Among the reptiles, those often seen
\nhere are cobra, Russell’s Viper, checkered keelback, python, and Bengal
\nmonitor.\u00a0 While most of the visitors are
\nholidaymakers, nature lovers, wildlife photographers, and filmmakers also make
\na beeline for the tiger reserve in Maharashtra.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
The safaris are organized in the
\nearly morning and late evening. You must book the safari permit for Nagzire
\nTiger Reserve much in advance. Nagzira Sanctuary is 22km from Sakoli on the
