At this point we\u2019re in the polish phase.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s time to clean up last few bits to make it all as smooth and fluid as possible.<\/p>\n
That means:<\/p>\n
We can also take this time to experiment with slight offset changes, or adjustments to the feet arcs \u2013 and hand arcs.<\/p>\n
So let\u2019s do some of that now and we\u2019ll wrap this walking cycle up.<\/p>\n
First we should get these legs cleaned up.<\/p>\n
The foot arc could use some work \u00a0\u2013 so let\u2019s tweak that a bit \u2013 from the side view and the front view.<\/p>\n

Its what usually drives animators CRAZY!<\/p>\n
Knee POPS<\/b><\/p>\n
It\u2019s super common obstacle for anyone that\u2019s animated a walk in 3D before.<\/p>\n
Why?<\/p>\n
Because to fix it you usually have to fight the character RIG.<\/p>\n
You have to use a combination of all of your foot attributes \u2013 including stretch and maybe even the hip to keep the knee always progressing.<\/p>\n
As if there\u2019s a hitch in spacing it will give us a POP.<\/p>\n
And people usually do this early on in the animation process rather than at the end.<\/p>\n
If we had worried about this when we were still figuring out our hip movements this would have been a back and forth nightmare.<\/p>\n
But now it\u2019s not so bad.<\/p>\n
We\u2019ll defeat this by just frame by framing and using our stretch<\/p>\n
We could keep tweaking the knees, adding finger overlap, trying different extremes for the body \u2013 it could go on endlessly in search of perfection.<\/p>\n
BUT at some point like if you were working as an animator with a deadline \u2013 you\u2019ve got it call it done and move on.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
