With so many abandoned or neglected pets across the USA, it\u2019s more important than ever that we take the time to pitch in and work as a community to pick up the slack. If you\u2019re interested in volunteering, here are some pointers to get started.<\/p>\n

Resources<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Brushing up on your knowledge and knowing who to reach out to and contact is crucial before you commit to a volunteer position.<\/em><\/p>\n

  • There are plenty of online directories<\/span><\/a> that list all active animal shelters in 50 states across the USA<\/li>\n
  • Services like Charity Navigator<\/span><\/a> help you to vet which animal non-profits are legitimate and worthy of your time and energy<\/li>\n
  • Make sure to read plenty of first-hand accounts<\/a><\/span> of what it\u2019s like to work with animals before committing to a volunteer position<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Digital Aid<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    With the advent of technology and social media, it\u2019s possible to get plenty done from a digital position.<\/em><\/p>\n

    • Advocate for the latest animal rights issues and use an image resizer<\/a><\/span> to post high-quality images across social media<\/li>\n
    • Online fundraising platforms<\/a><\/span> allow you to easily contribute to non-profit projects as they arise<\/li>\n

      Online action is important but the most profound impact comes from getting your hands dirty and physically involving yourself in animal activism<\/em><\/p>\n
