The musical curator of the series is Andrew Khedoori<\/em>, alongside Mark Gowing<\/em> who designs the remarkable typographic cover for each release.
This month (December 2024), edition #41 will be released, presenting tracks 161-164, by Sanae Yamada<\/a>, The Nighttime Ensemble<\/a>, Reign Of Ferns<\/a>, <\/em>and Jolanda Moletta and Karen Vogt<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\nAs its name reveals, all pieces are relatively long, sharing the intention \u2018to foster and celebrate immersive listening experiences for the musically adventurous\u2019.<\/em> Which, by the way, implies that the music can not always be labeled as \u2018ambient\u2019. It can be ambient, generative electronics, improv, modern classical, field recordings\u2026 just about anything that fits the concept as long as it is \u2018immersive\u2019 and\/or \u2018adventurous\u2019.<\/p>\nThe \u2018long-form\u2019 length can range from around 20 minutes to over one hour. Musically, the editions cover a broad and somewhat hard-to-define range of styles.

Sanae Yamada \u2013 a member of the \u2018proto-punk, fuzz-trance outfit Moon Duo <\/em>\u2013 explores a different territory in her calm and gentle piece Flowering Tree.<\/em>
On Suspended Between Worlds,<\/em> Jolanda Moletta<\/em><\/strong> and Karen Vogt<\/a><\/em><\/strong> \u2018use vocal intonations as the key source to conjure cocooning compositions of dream-like ambience\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\nEach piece in the Longform Editions <\/em>series can be obtained separately, but with a subscription, you\u2019ll receive all editions (\u00e1nd some subscriber-only releases) for no more than $6AUD (3,70 EUR or $2,60 USD) per month.<\/p>\n
