Britt releases statement following confirmation of CIA director"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>U.S. Senator Katie Britt, R-Ala., released the following statement after voting to confirm former-U.S. Representative John Ratcliffe, whom President Trump nominated to serve as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith increasing threats around the globe and after a terrorist attack in New Orleans this month, it is absolutely essential the Senate expeditiously approve President Trump\u2019s national security team. John Ratcliffe has extensive experience in counter-terrorism and intelligence. He is strongly qualified and will help execute President Trump\u2019s peace through strength doctrine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJohn has made clear he will not allow political or personal biases to cloud his judgment, and based on his time in Congress, it\u2019s clear he supports transparency and oversight\u2014something that\u2019s much needed in our intelligence community. I firmly believe John\u2019s leadership will help make our country safer,\u201d Sen.
