The temporary shutdown followed the Supreme Court\u2019s recent ruling to ban the app unless its Chinese parent company, ByteDance, divests ownership due to national security concerns.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement posted to social media, TikTok confirmed the restoration efforts and thanked President Donald Trump for his intervention:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service. We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive.<\/p>\n<div class=\"xKCIvE3l\" style=\"clear:both;float:left;width:100%;margin:0 0 20px 0;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/theapplepost-com\/id1520745448\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theapplepost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/theapplepost-december-app-campaign.png\" alt=\"Read the day\u2019s latest stories and receive breaking news alerts with theapplepost.com app \u2013 available on the App Store.\" style=\"width: 848px; height: auto;\"\/><br \/>\n<\/a><\/div>\n<p>It\u2019s a strong stand for the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship. ByteDance must still resolve the ownership issue to comply with the Supreme Court ruling.
