The Book: With the wedding of the year approaching, excitement is running high at the café! But there’s just one problem. Maddy is grappling with a secret. Could it derail all of hers and Jack’s glorious plans for their big day? Will there actually be a wedding?

Purchase Link

www.amazon.co.uk

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CR8BYQ1V

The Review: This is the latest in this ongoing series and perfectly timed to be reading now, when it’s cold and frosty in most parts of the UK. There’s a lot packed into this story, a few secrets, some exciting travels and some drama.

I really enjoyed the book but I have to admit Maddy irritated me at times. There was later explanation that helped me understand why she had behaved the way she had but at the time I found her a bit frustrating. However it’s easy for me to feel like that reading a book rather than having to actually deal with what was going on as her character did.

As I’ve said there is a lot packed into this story. We get the viewpoint of some of the other characters as well and see bits of other characters lives progressing at the same time which is unusual as the stories are usually just focused on the one main character. However I really enjoyed this change. I felt these extra parts added to the main story but also expanded on it and overall gave it more depth.

As I’ve said this is a perfect read for this time of year, not only because of the Christmas wedding mentioned in the title, but because of the cold, frosty weather at the moment. It’s a cosy read with lots of warmth, and plenty of mentions of hot drinks to warm you that way as well. Ideal for reading under a blanket with a mug of something hot to hand.

The Author:

Rosie Green’s Little Duck Pond Cafe series of novellas is centred around life in a village cafe and most can be read as stand-alone stories. (‘The Sunshine Sisters’ is a trilogy within the Little Duck Pond Café series and it would benefit from being read in order: Aurora, Skye and Blossom.) Look out for ‘Cosy Nights & Snowball Fights’, and ‘Maddy’s Christmas Wedding’, both out now in time for the festive season!

Follow Rosie on Twitter – https://twitter.com/Rosie_Green88
