Kennedy Jr. to serve as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. Elections have consequences!<\/p>\n<p>Trump made the announcement Thursday afternoon on social media saying, in part:\u00a0\u201cHHS will play a big role in helping ensure that everybody will be protected from harmful chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, pharmaceutical products, and food additives that have contributed to the overwhelming Health Crisis in this Country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some in the media have speculated that Trump\u2019s more surprising nominations were made for the sole purpose of alarming his critics and creating backlash \u2014 the proverbial middle finger. But even if that\u2019s true, this appointment is more like a literal middle finger to agriculture, which constituted a key piece of Trump\u2019s base over the years, by the way.
