This is an impressive debut and I look forward to seeing what the author comes up with next. I thought Emma was a great character. I found myself drawn to her and touched by her despite the dark turns the novel takes when she becomes fixated on her doctor and his wife. I also liked the way the novel explores Emma\u2019s debilitating chronic illness which isn\u2019t something I\u2019ve really read before. This was a haunting, unsettling read.
