Monument Gas Grill Mesa II 415BZ<\/h3>\n

I recently assembled my Monument Mesa II 415BZ grill<\/a>, which was straightforward and well-built. This compact model offers versatile features: it works as a grill, a light smoker with the Smoke Box, or as a flat-top griddle by swapping the grill grates for griddle plates. Adding a pizza stone or rotisserie expands its cooking options even further.<\/p>\n

This unit includes four front-to-back burners, a \u201ccavity-style infrared broil zone\u201d that heats to 700\u2013800\u00b0F for fast searing, and a 12,000 BTU side burner. One-handed piezo ignition enables quick, battery-free startup, while 304 stainless steel burners deliver efficient performance.<\/p>\n

This compact grill offers many features and is built from stainless steel to prevent rust.<\/p>\n

The pegboard design on the sides and inside the door lets you arrange accessories<\/a> as needed. The grill includes five hooks for BBQ tools. Visit Monument\u2019s<\/a> website to find more accessories<\/a>, like a trash bin, paper towel holder, and pizza stone rack.<\/p>\n

I love this little grill and thought I would put it to the test by doing some hickory smoked chicken rotisserie chickens. Real simple using Monument\u2019s smoke box<\/a> I\u2019ll put a recipe for it on the bottom of this page.<\/p>\n

I love the flavor cold smoked cheese and pork chops. Doing a 5-hour cold smoke on the chops! I then refrigerate the chops for a few days before grilling them for great results. After sharing these at a Men\u2019s group, I\u2019ve become the master cook for all of our gatherings.<\/p>\n

The Mesa II<\/a> comes with durable cast iron grates<\/u> and include a unique \u201ccavity-style infrared broil zone<\/strong>\u201d on its right-side burners, which provides a powerful searing flame that reaches up to 10,000 BTU.<\/p>\n

The cast iron cooking grates have four main burners: two left burners at 8,500 BTU each and two right \u201cBroil Zone\u201d burners at 10,000 BTU each. Total cooking area is 405 sq. in.<\/p>\n

In the Broil Zone, the two burners let you dial in heat just the way you want, the black zone for everyday cooking (8,500 BTU). And the red zone cranks up the heat for that perfect sear (10,000 BTU).<\/p>\n

COLD SMOKING<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monument\u2019s \u201cSmoke Box\u201d<\/a> simplifies cold smoking giving your food a Kiss of Smoke and adding another layer of flavor. Perfect\u00a0 for cheese and especially for recipes using cheese. There is no heat when Cold Smoking.<\/p>\n

Just fill the smoke box with pellets or wood chips and light it with a torch and lay it in a cold grill.<\/p>\n

HOT SMOKING<\/strong><\/p>\n

NOTE: \u201cHot Smoking\u201d is done between 175*F \/ 275*F.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hot smoking occurs between 175\u00b0F\/275*F and higher, with adjustable heat with our front-to-back burners and individual controls. With the Monument Mesa<\/a>, you can smoke larger items like ribs, pulled pork, turkey, chicken, or even prime rib\u2014almost anything you enjoy.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s talk BBQ<\/strong><\/p>\n

NOTE: \u201cBBQ\u201d 300* to 375* Low and slow<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Monument Mesa II 415BZ<\/a> is perfect for barbecuing! Because of its \u00a0cast iron grates<\/a> that offer even heating and are so easy to clean. Place your birds onto the rotisserie rod and use a pair of pliers to tighten the meat claws so they don\u2019t come loose during the cook. (Just Tight, no need to Crank on them.)<\/p>\n

Tie the wings and drum sticks down so the don\u2019t drag or flop around during the cook with butcher\u2019s cord. It is a good idea to check on things during your cook to be sure things don\u2019t come loose and start flopping around. I placed everything on one of my \u201cBull Rack\u201d trays<\/a> for easy handling and clean up.<\/p>\n

Your birds are done at 165* but I like 170* better because the meat flakes apart nicer.<\/p>\n
