They\u2019re learned when we discover that God\u2019s provision is enough.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There was a season in my life when \u201cvery little\u201d described almost everything I owned. As a single mother, I depended completely on God\u2019s provision. Some days I honestly didn\u2019t know how I would afford diapers for my children. Our old car was covered in rust and seemed to break down in the most inconvenient times. We lived in a small home, and there was always more month than there was money.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet through every challenge, God remained faithful. He always provided exactly what we needed, often just in the nick of time. Looking back, I can clearly see His hand of provision, His mercy, and His grace carrying us through one day at a time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those difficult years shaped the way I raised my children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because I knew everything we had came from God, I wanted my children to know it too. We didn\u2019t have bedrooms overflowing with toys or the latest gadgets, but what we did have was a gift from the Lord.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I taught them to make their beds because God had provided those beds. I taught them to pick up their toys and put them back where they belonged because those toys were blessings to be cared for. We took care of our little home because it was the home God had given us. We even took care of our old rusty car because it was the vehicle He faithfully used to get us where we needed to go.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I wasn\u2019t trying to raise perfectionists. I was trying to raise grateful stewards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I wanted my children to understand that honoring God isn\u2019t determined by how much we own. It\u2019s revealed in how faithfully we care for what He has entrusted to us. Whether it\u2019s a tiny apartment, a farmhouse, or a large home, every blessing deserves our gratitude. Whether we drive an old car or a brand-new one, we honor God by caring for what He has graciously placed in our hands.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bible reminds us, \u201cMoreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful\u201d (1 Corinthians 4:2, KJV). Faithfulness doesn\u2019t begin when we have more, it begins by caring for what God has already entrusted to us.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The apostle Paul also wrote, \u201cWhatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord\u201d (Colossians 3:23). Even ordinary tasks can become acts of worship when they\u2019re done with grateful hearts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve always enjoyed keeping things orderly. Even as a little girl, I would wake up before everyone else, make my bed, straighten the house, and organize whatever I could find. My mother probably didn\u2019t appreciate it when I decided to \u2018help\u2019 by gathering important papers from the tables and neatly filing them away in drawers. In my six-year-old mind, I thought I was making the house better.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not much has changed. I still enjoy putting things back where they belong. Recently, after returning home from a trip, I unpacked every suitcase, washed, folded, and put away every load of laundry before I finally sat down to rest. My husband smiled because he knows that\u2019s just the way I\u2019m wired.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But over the years, the Lord has taught me something even more important than order.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve often related to Martha in Luke 10. Martha\u2019s desire to serve Jesus wasn\u2019t wrong. Her hospitality was an expression of love. The problem wasn\u2019t her work\u2014it was that she became distracted by it and momentarily lost sight of the One she was serving.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus gently reminded her, \u201cYou are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed\u2014or indeed only one\u201d (Luke 10:41-42). I love that Jesus didn\u2019t shame Martha, He lovingly redirected her heart. His grace wasn\u2019t waiting at the end of her to-do list, it was sitting in her living room.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That reminder still speaks to me today. God calls us to be faithful stewards, but He never asks us to place our identity in our accomplishments or in perfectly ordered lives. A made bed doesn\u2019t guarantee a peaceful heart. A spotless house doesn\u2019t replace time spent with Christ.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, I still make my bed. I still put things back where they belong. I still believe we should care for our homes, our cars, our health, and every blessing God has entrusted to us\u2014not because those things make us more spiritual, but because they remind us that every good gift comes from Him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Order is a gift. Grace is the greater gift.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When order meets grace, our homes become more than places where we live.
