The release also comes with another surprise: a cryptic announcement teasing their first full album since \u201c<strong>RUNWAY<\/strong>\u201d, set for September.<\/p>\n<p>Following \u201c<em>PAINT<\/em>\u201c, I Don\u2019t Like Mondays. closes each episode of BLACK TORCH, the adaptation of\u00a0<strong>Tsuyoshi Takaki<\/strong>\u2018s cult-favourite manga, which follows Jiro, a descendant of ninja, after his encounter with the legendary supernatural black cat Rasetsu, pulling him into a battle alongside mysterious spirits known as ayakashi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Groooovy<\/em>\u201d trades the urgency of \u201c<em>PAINT<\/em>\u201d for something looser: a slow, smooth groove built around live band instrumentation with a club-ready pulse underneath, carrying a message that imperfection is where the beauty is.\u00a0<strong>Vocalist YU<\/strong>\u00a0frames the connection to the source material directly: \u201cBLACK TORCH is a story about imperfect people who keep moving forward anyway. Between a new anime theme, a long-awaited album and another major tour, I Don\u2019t Like Mondays. is entering one of their busiest and most exciting chapters yet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About\u00a0I Don\u2019t Like Mondays.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I Don\u2019t Like Mondays. is a Japanese rock band formed in 2012, consisting of members YU (Vocals), CHOJI (Guitar), KENJI (Bass Guitar), and SHUKI (Drums).<\/p>\n<p>In 2014, I Don\u2019t Like Mondays. made their debut with the album \u201cPlay\u201d (2014), establishing a signature sound that blends stylish rock, funk-infused grooves, and danceable pop hooks. Designed to uplift and energise, the band\u2019s music reflects their core philosophy of transforming everyday moments into something vibrant and celebratory. Their creative process is deeply collaborative, with all members contributing to songwriting and production, and lyrics often presented in both English and Japanese, reflecting their international influences.
