How to Actually Tell If a Candidate Is the Real Deal<\/h2>\n

You\u2019re staring at a stack of resumes and every single one is perfect.<\/p>\n

Flawless bullet points. All the right keywords. LinkedIn profiles so polished they practically glow. On paper, you\u2019ve got twelve unicorns fighting for one job.<\/p>\n

And your gut is quietly telling you: something\u2019s off. Because you know \u2014 the way everybody now knows \u2014 that half of these were probably run through an AI that knew exactly what you wanted to hear before you even finished writing the job post.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the thing: the resume used to be a filter. Now it\u2019s a costume. So if the document can\u2019t tell you who\u2019s good anymore, you have to change what you\u2019re measuring. Stop grading the photo. Start tasting the food.<\/p>\n

Stop asking what they\u2019ve done. Watch them do it.<\/h2>\n

Here\u2019s what nobody wants to admit: interviews mostly measure how good someone is at interviewing. That\u2019s it. Some of the best people you\u2019ll ever hire are quietly great at the work and mediocre at selling themselves in a room. Some of the worst have world-class rizz and a highlight reel for every question.<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t hire a musician off their highlight reel. You have them play live.<\/p>\n
