According to an <\/span>8-K form<\/a><\/span> filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, EA’s major take-private deal\u2014with a consortium that includes Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund\u2014has cleared all regulatory steps. The deal is expected to go through early next week, on August 4.<\/span><\/p>\n “As of July 30, 2026, all regulatory approvals required to complete the Merger have been obtained,” reads the filing. “Electronic Arts currently expects the merger to close on or about the close of trading on August 4, 2026. Completion of the merger remains subject to the satisfaction or waiver of the remaining customary closing conditions set forth in the Merger Agreement.”<\/span><\/p>\n The news comes just after the <\/span>European Commission approved the merger<\/a><\/span> under its EU Merger Regulation rules, concluding that it doesn’t “raise competition concerns” because of a perceived “limited impact on competition in the markets where the companies are active.”<\/span><\/p>\n
