But then wander <strong><em>beyond<\/em><\/strong> the falls to Loch Skeen (backed by low-level hills, this place is VERY scenic). This whole walk is only 3 miles (5km), but it\u2019s super beautiful.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"cramond-falls\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cramond Falls<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Where it is: <\/strong>inside Edinburgh<br \/><strong>Why you\u2019ll like it:<\/strong> because it\u2019s perfect for a picnic<br \/><strong>Typical hike length (if you do the \u2018standard\u2019 hike):<\/strong> 6 miles (9.5km)<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of <a href=\"https:\/\/travelness.com\/best-waterfalls-near-edinburgh\">the best waterfalls near Edinburgh<\/a>, Cramond Falls is tiny.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83c\udff4\udb40\udc67\udb40\udc62\udb40\udc73\udb40\udc63\udb40\udc74\udb40\udc7f Measuring in at a height of around only around 1 meter (3 feet), it\u2019s part of the super-pretty River Almond (which most Edinburgh tourists don\u2019t visit).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83c\udf33 A wooded area, it\u2019s perfect for a gentle little picnic-based adventure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026 but it\u2019s mainly on this list because it\u2019s IDEAL for an Edinburgh walk:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Start at Leith\u2019s Royal Yacht Britannia, <strong>follow the coast all the way through central Edinburgh and the super-beautiful bay of Silverknowes Beach<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then head beyond central Edinburgh to its outskirts, where you\u2019ll hit the River Almond. But at the southwestern corner of the route, take a detour west, and head to the Loup of Fintry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026 and when you get there, have a swim. It brings you to all the most famous pools. From here, you can hit the short wander up the little track to the waterfall\u2019s top tier\u2026 where there\u2019s a safe viewing platform. And this hike is world-class, with massive views from both above and below.
