Swiggy said on Tuesday it has closed a $1.25 billion financing round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and Prosus.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2021\/07\/20\/indian-food-delivery-startup-swiggy-raises-1-25-billion-led-by-softbank-and-prosus\/\">Techcrunch<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Masayoshi Son-led SoftBank Vision Fund II has invested $450 million in food delivery platform Swiggy (Bundl Technologies Private Limited) leading the company\u2019s massive $1.25 billion Series J round of fundraising, with India\u2019s antitrust watchdog, the Competition Commission having greenlit the transaction a few days ago. It is expected that this investment will see Swiggy\u2019s valuation soar to nearly $5.5 billion.<\/p>\n<p><b class=\"taggedbold\">Rajaram Legal<\/b> advised <client>SoftBank<\/client> Vision Fund II as transaction counsel, led by a team of <designation>managing partner<\/designation> <lawyername>Archana Rajaram<\/lawyername>, <designation>partner<\/designation> <lawyername>Prasad Subramanyan<\/lawyername>, <designation>senior associate<\/designation> <lawyername>Nikita Rajwade<\/lawyername> and <designation>associate<\/designation> <lawyername>Raina Jog<\/lawyername>. This would be the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legallyindia.com\/db\/client\/Softbank?timeperiod=2020-21\">first recorded mandate<\/a> for fast-growing Rajaram for the Japanese private equity giant, which has worked with many big firms including Khaitan &amp; Co, AZB &amp; Partners, Trilegal.<\/p>\n<p><b class=\"taggedbold\">Khaitan &amp; Co<\/b> acted for <client>SoftBank<\/client> as competition law counsel, with a team including <designation>partners<\/designation> <lawyername>Bharat Anand<\/lawyername>, <lawyername>Pranjal Prateek<\/lawyername> and <lawyername>Sagardeep Rathi<\/lawyername>, and <designation>associates<\/designation> <lawyername>Alisha Mehra<\/lawyername> and <lawyername>Armaan Gupta<\/lawyername>.<\/p>\n<p><b class=\"taggedbold\">Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas<\/b> advised <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legallyindia.com\/private-equity-venture-capital\/sam-continues-with-swiggy-in-210m-mandate-to-help-it-become-yet-another-indian-unicorn-20180629-9415\">long-time<\/a> client <client>Swiggy<\/client>, led by a team of <designation>partner<\/designation> <lawyername>Raghubir Menon<\/lawyername>, <designation>principal associate<\/designation> <lawyername>Shiladitya Banerjee<\/lawyername> and <designation>associate<\/designation> <lawyername>Pranav Sethi<\/lawyername>.
