Only the meteorologist can tell, and she&#8217;ll have to turn on the weather station to be told.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-family: times\">Or is there Another who predicts the forecast of our days?<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<blockquote style=\"border-color: currentcolor;border-style: none;border-width: medium;border: none;margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px;padding: 0px\">\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"chapter-2\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\">Ask the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>&nbsp;for rain in the springtime;&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\">it is the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>&nbsp;who sends the thunderstorms.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\">He gives showers of rain&nbsp;to all people,&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\">and plants of the field&nbsp;to everyone.&nbsp; ~Zechariah 10:1<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\">Our Lord&#8230;the <i>Creator<\/i>&nbsp;of weather <i>brings<\/i>&nbsp;the weather.&nbsp; And we can trust Him and trust <i>in<\/i>&nbsp;Him, regardless of whether it is raining or shining.&nbsp;<i>&nbsp;<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\"><i><br \/><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\"><i>He<\/i> is always reigning and shining.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\">~~<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\">But every one of us have fallen before a false idol before.&nbsp; We&#8217;ve looked elsewhere instead of God for direction or purpose.&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\">As a young adult, I can recall carefreely stepping out of the sunny bright of a coastal town sidewalk and into the darkened room of a boardwalk fortuneteller.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-1\" style=\"position: relative\">The Lord knows that we can naively\/curiously\/purposefully seek direction and comfort from dark corners, and He warns us against it:&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<blockquote style=\"border-color: currentcolor;border-style: none;border-width: medium;border: none;margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px;padding: 0px;text-align: left\">\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" id=\"en-NIV-23019\" style=\"position: relative\">The idols&nbsp;speak deceitfully,&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">diviners&nbsp;see visions that lie;&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">they tell dreams&nbsp;that are false,&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">they give comfort in vain.&nbsp; ~Zechariah 10:2 NIV<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\">Or&#8211;as the New Living Translation of the Bible says it:&nbsp;<span><b><i><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" id=\"en-NLT-22995\" style=\"background-color: white;position: relative\">Household gods give worthless advice,&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"indent-1\" style=\"background-color: white\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">fortune-tellers predict only lies, a<\/span><\/span><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"background-color: white;position: relative\">nd interpreters of dreams pronounce&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><span class=\"indent-1\" style=\"background-color: white\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\"><i>falsehoods that give no comfort<\/i> (<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">Zechariah 10:2 NLT).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\">&#8220;<b>Household gods<\/b>&#8220;&#8211;what a perfect description of the mediocrity and impotence of the items and avenues that we so easily pour our hopes and worship into.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\">There is nothing run-of-the-mill or ordinary about our Lord, however.&nbsp; He is <i>the opposite<\/i>&nbsp;(in power and truth) of every <b>idol<\/b>&nbsp;or <b>household god<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\">God&#8217;s Word warns us today to <i>step away<\/i>&nbsp;from placing our trust and hopes in lame (ineffective) avenues of false power.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span style=\"background-color: white\"><span><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" id=\"en-NIV-23019\" style=\"position: relative\"><b>The idols&nbsp;speak deceitfully (<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">Zechariah 10:2)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><span style=\"background-color: white\">, but our Lord <\/span><b style=\"background-color: white\"><i>cannot lie.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times\"><b><span style=\"background-color: white\">in the hope of eternal life,<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">which God, <\/span><span style=\"background-color: #fcff01\">who does not lie<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">,<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">promised before the beginning of time&#8230;&nbsp; ~Titus 1:2&nbsp;<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left\">\n<li><b><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"text Heb-6-17\" id=\"en-NLT-30022\">God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind.<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">&nbsp;(<\/span><span class=\"text Heb-6-18\" id=\"en-NLT-30023\"><span class=\"versenum\" style=\"display: inline;line-height: normal;position: relative;top: auto;vertical-align: text-top\">18)&nbsp;<\/span>So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable <span style=\"background-color: #fcff01\">because it is impossible for God to lie<\/span>.&nbsp; &nbsp;~Hebrews 6:17-18<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"text Titus-1-3\" style=\"background-color: white;font-family: times\">There is no deceit in our Holy God, and He does not lie.&nbsp; His words, His promises, and His salvation over our lives <i>is truth <\/i>because <i>He is Truth.&nbsp;<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Titus-1-3\" style=\"background-color: white;font-family: times\">Why (even for a moment or a mood) would we place our hopes (and fears) and feelings in anything\/anyone else but God?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"border-color: currentcolor;border-style: none;border-width: medium;border: none;margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px;padding: 0px\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" id=\"en-NIV-23019\" style=\"position: relative\">The idols&nbsp;speak deceitfully,&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">diviners&nbsp;see visions that lie;&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">they tell dreams&nbsp;that are false,&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">they give comfort in vain.&nbsp; ~Zechariah 10:2<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\">~~~<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\">What are we worshiping in our lives?&nbsp; What &#8220;god&#8221; are we bowing to?&nbsp; Shaping our lives around?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\">Is it Jesus Christ?&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\">What determines our days and our mood and our outlook for today and tomorrow?&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\">Is it the Lord?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\">If we are honest with ourselves (and God)&#8211;our trust is often in other things, from medicine, to science, to love, to education, to self.&nbsp; These are idols.&nbsp; And they <b>speak deceitfully.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"border-color: currentcolor;border-style: none;border-width: medium;border: none;margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px;padding: 0px\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" id=\"en-NIV-23019\" style=\"position: relative\">The idols&nbsp;speak deceitfully,&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">diviners&nbsp;see visions that lie;&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">they tell dreams&nbsp;that are false,&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">they give comfort in vain.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">Therefore the people wander like sheep&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">oppressed for lack of a shepherd.&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">&nbsp; ~Zechariah 10:2<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\">Let&#8217;s stop <b>wandering like sheep <\/b>without a <b>shepherd<\/b><b>.<\/b>&nbsp; <i>We have one<\/i>, Brothers and Sisters in Christ.&nbsp; We have <i>the <\/i>One<i>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"border-color: currentcolor;border-style: none;border-width: medium;border: none;margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px;padding: 0px;text-align: left\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\"><b><span class=\"versenum\" style=\"background-color: white;display: inline;line-height: normal;position: relative;top: auto;vertical-align: text-top\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">I am the Alpha and the Omega,<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">the First and the Last,<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">the Beginning and the End.&nbsp;<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\"><b><span class=\"text Rev-22-14\" id=\"en-NIV-31096\"><span class=\"versenum\" style=\"background-color: white;display: inline;line-height: normal;position: relative;top: auto;vertical-align: text-top\">(<\/span><span class=\"versenum\" style=\"display: inline;line-height: normal;position: relative;top: auto;vertical-align: text-top\">14)&nbsp;<\/span>\u201cBlessed are those who wash their robes,&nbsp;that they may have the right to the tree of life&nbsp;and may go through the gates&nbsp;into the city.<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">&nbsp;(<\/span><span class=\"text Rev-22-15\" id=\"en-NIV-31097\"><span class=\"versenum\" style=\"display: inline;line-height: normal;position: relative;top: auto;vertical-align: text-top\">15)&nbsp;<\/span>Outside&nbsp;are the dogs,&nbsp;those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.&nbsp; ~Revelation 12:13-15<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\">~~~<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\">I don&#8217;t judge weather station watchers&#8211;it is nice to know the day&#8217;s forecast.&nbsp; But we must know and trust that there is a better way to determine our outlook and the eventual outcome of our days.&nbsp; There&nbsp;<i>is <\/i>a better <b>Way<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"border-color: currentcolor;border-style: none;border-width: medium;border: none;margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px;padding: 0px\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><b><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span style=\"background-color: white\">Jesus said to him,&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"woj\" style=\"background-color: white\">\u201cI am<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"woj\" style=\"background-color: white\">the way,<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"woj\" style=\"background-color: white\">the truth, and<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"woj\" style=\"background-color: white\">the life.<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"woj\" style=\"background-color: white\">No one comes to the Father<\/span><span style=\"background-color: white\">&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"woj\" style=\"background-color: white\">except through Me.&nbsp; ~John 14:6<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\">~~~<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times\">Once or twice&#8230;or maybe more, we have searched in the wrong places for truth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" id=\"en-NIV-23019\" style=\"position: relative\">But:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\"><b>the idols&nbsp;speak deceitfully,<br \/><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">diviners&nbsp;see visions that lie;&nbsp;<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">they tell dreams&nbsp;that are false,&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">they give comfort in vain.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">Therefore the people wander like sheep&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">oppressed for lack of a shepherd.&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><b style=\"background-color: white\"><span style=\"font-family: times\"><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Zech-10-2\" style=\"position: relative\">&nbsp;
